Hi, my name is Robin, and I am fundraising for services for Brian Decker, our beloved friend/family member/my husband Bob’s partner for over 30+years before retiring. Brian was a very caring and self-less person who would go out of his way to help and take care of others. He was dedicated to not only his job but also to the community in which he served faithfully in law enforcement. Before retirement Brian was active in community outreach programs that dealt with homelessness, drug prevention, and gang prevention. He was a well decorated officer in the years he served. After retirement we had the honor and privilege of becoming his bonus family, where he was very active with our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He not only became a family member to us but became a rock in our family as well. He developed quite a passion for cooking, and we lovingly saw him as our master chef! He enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren, and great-grandchildren often overseeing cookouts and pool activities, which we all enjoyed so much! Our family is deeply saddened by this unforeseen loss, and we want to make sure we honor his memory and acknowledge the man he was. A man of great character, integrity, outstanding role model, and faithful friend! Since Brian was a complete picture of health, all of us were completely caught off guard with his passing. Everyone believed he was going to the hospital to have a procedure done and would be returning home in the next few days. Unfortunately, the night before he was due to be released to come home, he suffered a massive heart attack and despite medical professionals’ best efforts there was nothing they could do to revive him. Our home already feels empty without him, but his legacy will continue to be shared amongst those that knew and loved him. We are asking as an extended family and group of friends and colleagues to come together for emotional and financial support during this difficult time, to lay our friend to rest. Rest in peace beloved friend, you will forever be missed and in our hearts!
