My name is Mandi Bell and I just wrapped up my 1st season as the swim coach at Brenau University in Gainesville, Georgia. I grew up swimming primarily for NAC in Nashville, Tennessee and first started coaching club at Excel Aquatics and then later at Swim Atlanta, Dynamo, and for US-Aquatics Club in Atlanta. I have a daughter who just graduated, who swam for Eastern Michigan and a son who goes to school and swims at Cal Berkeley. I also have a daughter who now lives and works as a commercial diver in Florida and a 12-year-old who swims club and summer league here in Atlanta. I am rebuilding the swim team at Brenau and I’m excited about doing so! I have a diverse group of 7 swimmers committed for next season. We have students: from France, the Netherlands, Mauritius, and the US (Tennessee and Georgia). My main goals for the upcoming season are to move into 2nd at our conference meet, qualify swimmers for Nationals, find 6 swimmers for 2024/25, and for the swim team to have the highest GPA of all of the athletic teams at Brenau. When I was hired last July, only 2 swimmers were returning. This season will look much different from my 1st season! The money raised will help to provide the team with tech suits for Nationals, towels, spirit wear, snacks, and assist with the cost of their winter training trip.
