Updated 8/4/2024 Blue is home. His procedure went well and they successfully removed his spleen and several other masses that will be sent out to pathology. He was so excited to come home he accidentally bit his tongue. Blue’s check up is scheduled for 8/14/23. Thank you so much to everyone for the support and prayers. For those who asked my venmo is @felmie and my cash app is $felmie I was 21 years old when I adopted the sweetest boy in the world, Blue was only 8-weeks old. For the past 11 years we’ve been inseparable and if you’ve ever had to opportunity to meet him, you’d know that Blue is the epitome of love. Our favorite times have been running, playing rope and spending time with Pumpkin on the couch as “Blumpkin.” In 2017 he had a malignant mass cell tumor which we were able to remove successfully and only month later I had emergency surgery resulting in pregnancy loss—I didn’t think our bond could be any better, but Blue was by my side as we both healed our hearts and bodies together. In 2024, he had a malignant melanoma on his stomach, another mass cell tumor, and several benign masses that were all successfully removed and treated. This past March, a large mass the size of a baseball was found on his spleen and during his physical, they also discovered he had an enlarged heart. To ensure he would be strong enough to undergo removal of the mass, I took him to a cardiologist in May for pre-operative care where he was diagnosed with degenerative valve disease and high blood pressure. Since then, he’s been on heart medication, twice daily for the rest of this life, but was cleared for surgery. During our surgery consultation in July, through ultrasound the specialist uncovered multiple growths on his spleen, a mass cell tumor on his rear leg, and three suspicious growths in between the pads on his paws that also need to be removed. This Thursday, August 3, Blue and I are going to the specialist to surgically remove the baseball-sized mass as well as the others on his spleen, the tumor on his rear leg and those on his paws. Without this surgery, his spleen will rupture, and our 11-year bond will be broken. Blue has been there for me the last 11 years and I consider him family. I would do anything for him, and I need your help. The estimated total is $8,870 and your donation would be a life-saving gift for Blue. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Gratefully yours, Felmie, Blue, and Pumpkin
