My Name is Blue, I am an 11-month-old Australian Shepherd living in Bracebridge, Ontario. I spend my days welcoming and entertaining visitors at LIV OUTSIDE, an outdoor recreation center in Bracebridge . My well-mannered demeanour helps many young visitors learn how to approach and trust dogs and I like to bring joy to everyone I meet. I enjoy loads of recreation every day including splashing in the river, riding on paddleboards and running through the bike trails. On Friday, July 14 I was hit by a car and I am fortunate to be alive. I have a fractured hind leg and my tail will have to be amputated (it's ok I will now be tail-less like my brother Cooper) but with special surgery I will be able to keep my leg and continue to run after months of recovery. I have surgery booked with a specialist in Toronto for Monday and bills for my care are expected to approach $15,000. I have so much more joy to give everyone and my owners just couldn't do anything but give the best fighting chance and will keep everyone updated on my progress.
