Hi, my name is Lexi Weakley, and I am a musical theater writer based in New York. In 2024, I graduated from Berklee College of Music where I studied Songwriting and Musical Theater Writing. After the success of my last musical "Elsewhere" in 2024, I have embarked on my next journey with a new musical called "Autopilot." This musical tells the true story of my family, and I am so excited to share it with the world. In 1969, my grandfather Donald Sklarin passed away in a plane crash. He was a pilot flying for TWA, and he and 3 other pilots died on impact when their training flight crashed in Atlantic City. This show tells the story of what happens when an already broken family chooses to not process grief after they encounter sudden tragedy. Telling the story of 60+ years, this musical is a real-life portrayal of the outcomes of our decisions that lead us to overcome or not overcome hardships in our lives. And here is where you come in... We need YOUR help! Our first reading has officially taken place and we are hitting the ground running. Sheet music, demos, table readings, orchestrations and more all need to happen to realize this project. With your donations, you can make that happen and contribute to the creation of an incredible new piece of theater. Whether it is $1 or $1,000, your help makes us one step closer to our destination. Thank you in advance for your help and contributions!
