To the family and friends the Bockheim's: My sister Angie (Lucy) is going to Africa to volunteer for a female empowerment program in Kenya. I did not give Angie any inclination that I was to be making this page for her--because I would most likely get in trouble. Those that know her best understand that she is the least likely to ASK for something but definitely first in line to GIVE. With that being said, I ask for your help to help get her to Kenya to make a lasting and significant impact on the women there. Isn't she just the perfect candidate? They will be lucky to have her. What will she do? While there, she will be teaching single women INCOME EARNING skills so that they can support themselves and their familes. She will be staying with an African Host Mama (proper vocab there) and working every day with them to teach them important skills to allow them support themselves and their families. Why? She is very passionate about this decision and we are extremely proud of her. Ever since she was little she has always been our little helper for anything and everything and now she is looking to take on a larger and even more selfless role. Let's help her do it-- as she has helped most of us in one way or another along the way. Where does each dollar go? All proceeds will go directly to her flight, stay and meal portions for the month that she is there. When? She will be gone November 15-December 30. Angie would be more than thankful (as would I) for any donations whatsoever. Every dollar supports a very special young woman on a mission to make a lasting impact on another special woman that really needs her help, compassion and guidance. Thank you all so much!
