This fundraiser is meant to support my dearest friend, Alysa. Where we cannot ease the grief, or bring Alivia back, we can support her mama in allowing her time to heal, removing the burden and financial strain of funeral and memorial expenses, living expenses and any ongoing supports she may need. From the moment Alivia was born, Alysa dedicated her life to giving her baby girl a chance at having a full one. She was the sweetest soul and despite ongoing complex medical needs, Alivia lived a full wholehearted life with her family and friends. We all appreciated when Alysa would share a chronicle of their days at home or at hospital, showing Alivia the beauty of the world around her, how to enjoy the simple pleasures of every day life. Alivia was thriving, active and joyful as ever. She turned ten years old only a few months ago. But it wasn’t meant to be. And I can’t even put into words how excruciating this is for the ones who loved her. Alysa is now left in extraordinary circumstances, being almost seven months pregnant with Alivia’s baby brother and she will to plan a funeral and deal with the horrific situation of burying her daughter while preparing for the arrival of her son.
