To begin, the Romero family would like to thank you for taking the time to read the story of Alberto (Beto) Romero. Beto was born in La Paz Baja CA and as a baby, his family moved to Tijuana where he was raised. There he met his beautiful wife, Guadalupe, and they now rejoice in heaven. His wife and newborn son, Alberto Jr., fled to Los Angeles to begin a new life full of opportunity and growth for his growing family. Shortly after his son Martin and Gustavo were born, he now had his trio. He made sure his love for music was passed down to his sons, in which he bought them instruments and played his favorite genre repeatedly to them, Boléro’s. The only thing Beto loved aside from his family and music was soccer. Whether it was watching it on TV or watching his children play at the park, it was something he always spoke about. Regardless of what sport his children played he never missed a game. These actions were also towards his grandson Marcus whom he raised as his own, many know him as his fourth son. Beto was a funny, grumpy and loving man. He always left a cheerful impression on people, whether it was him waving a “peace” sign at a random person, him humming a tune into what he was going to say or him chirping his infamous bird noises as he walked away, he was an interesting character. Although Beto was an advocate for living a healthy lifestyle by not smoking or drinking, 10 years ago he was diagnosed with leukemia. This did not stop him from living a cheerful life full of beautiful memories and his rebellious nature of being independent, even at 90 years old. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worst in June 2024. His medication was no longer effective and his body was rejecting blood transfusions. The physicians informed us he would only be with us for a few weeks. Although Beto was sad, he had accepted that he lived a beautiful life. He prepared his goodbyes, sang us a few songs and left us on June 24th at 12:40 am. We are raising money to help with the unforeseen expenses caused by the loss of our family member.
