Hi, Aasha means hope in Hindi. That's what we call him. The sweetest little tom cat ever. He came to a door in 100+ degree heat, clearly suffering, and hoping for a bit of kindness. We would like to show him that. A stray cat in Hesperia in the summer heat has a rough life. This week the temperatures soared to 106. It was so hot that when he came to the door for food, as he has been for the last few days, the ground was burning his little paws. The person who has been so kindly feeding him this last week, will be unable to continue to do so and while the meals are keeping him from succumbing to starvation, they will hardly be enough to nurse him back to health. He has been living rough for quite some time and is severely emaciated and in need of medical intervention. Had he not happened on the right door a few days ago, I sincerely doubt he would have made it another day. The person who found him has pleaded for rescue help, but the rescues are so overloaded with kitten season that available fosters are few and far between, and even were they not, the kind of intervention and care he needs to have a chance at a good life would probably be more than they would be able to provide. So The Cat on the Kings... https://www.cathouseonthekings.com A wonderful non-profit no-kill cat sanctuary, that will rehabilitate him and give him the life he so deserves, either with a loving family once he is healthy, or if he is unable to adjust to family life again, then at the sanctuary amongst people who love him and lots of brother and sister felines. Please help this darling boy who although life has dealt him some very tough blows, has never lost his sweet, affectionate disposition and faith in the goodness of people. While the sanctuary cannot accept every cat, because of Aasha's circumstances and condition, they have agreed to in this case. They require a $5000 dollar donation ($4500 - if paid upon entry) and $80 for neuter surgery. While this may seem a lot, in reality cats can live a good long life now and their upkeep is expensive, and with the medical care he will need on top of that it seems to me that they will likely be footing a good part of the bill themselves. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity they are giving him and are completely committed to ensuring that Aasha is able to accept this generous gift of a new life and a reason to hope ❤️
