Penelope is a 7 yr old miniature dachshund who is the love of my life. She has saved me from many of hard times and is the best therapy dog I could ever have ask for. I could not picture a more perfect fit for me. She is my absolutely everything. She replaced my child whom I lost. She is my world. She is my absolute everything and I would do anything I could possibly do to save her life. On July 10 she was treated for severe pancreatitis or what we thought was just pancreatitis sp she was expected to be in the animal hospital for a few days. When she wasn't improving the way she should have, With further diagnostics x-ray showed that she had a blockage in her stomach and exploratory surgery was done. They found a foreign body in her intestines which turned out to be one of her toys, and they removed part of her bowel. She was doing very well post operatively with small improvements daily. Due to a number of factors while she was still quite critical set us so far back that within 72 hours she needed a secondary surgery and a plasma transfusion. She had to be transferred to the emergency hospital. She is in ICU hooked up to for IV bags on a pole tubes coming out of everywhere she's got a jugular catheter and a drain from her abdomen to to drain fluid collecting in her abdomen, which is causing her a lot of pain and I am a vet tech, and do not make enough to cover these surgeries and procedures being done. Despite how much vet bills cost we as RVTs do not make a good living we do it because we love animals and helping them. I have a very hard time asking for help but when it comes to my baby girl I will do anything possible to get her back. I would appreciate any help possible to help save my little girls life this was my last option. They have given me an estimate that is going to be over 10,000.00 and possibly climbing due to how severe her condition was. Most people think I'm insane for even trying to spend that on just a dog. She is not just a dog she is my world. She is only 7 years young and has so much life to have and share with me. My Penelope means the world to me and I would do anything for her.
