Hi, my name is Terri Lynn ~ I've been donating my hair most of my life. My first donation was back in college, then about every 5-to-7 years thereafter, in increments of 8-inches to 21-inches, over a span of 3 decades. My USMC/Firefighter husband joked that if I was going to do it again, he said to go all out & SHAVE it to raise even more funds towards a cause, because people would pay to see me shave my head. So, here we go & we're gonna go BIG to respectfully request our family, friends, neighbors, firefighters, Marines, yogis, my brew-haus/winery-lovers, coworkers & social media to donate! My hair is now 30+inches in length & I will cut my hair - even shave my head - in support of Mackenzie, & my hair donation will also go towards others in need of wigs. WHY? For Mackenzie ~ read on for her story: At 4-years old, Mackenzie was an independent little girl who loved Barbies, baby dolls, & getting to play her first year of soccer. It was during soccer that we noticed a change in her. She constantly complained about her legs hurting. She went to bed early, without eating, which was unlike her. We discovered she had a double ear infection & thought that was why she was tired. However, even after the antibiotics were done, she just got worse. We finally decided to take Kenzie to Mercy Kids ER to have them run labs. Unfortunately, the news no parent ever wants to hear came to us in early January 2024. The diagnosis broke our hearts: B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Mackenzie is a mommy’s girl, so Mom took time off work & then decided she needed to quit her job to be a full-time, stay-at-home mom & caregiver. Kenzie is about to enter the delayed intensification phase of her treatment. At a minimum, she still has two years of treatment, if everything goes well. She is about to turn five & her treatment has become her new normal. We all are so thankful for the doctors, nurses, & staff for making this diagnosis easier on our girl, so much so that she loves coming to the office to see everyone!
