Hello everyone, most of you know I am Samuel Riley. My wife Melanie and I were married in March 2020. We were baptized and saved before we got married. We were not able to go on our honeymoon because about that same time I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer, where it had metastasized to my brain. I never had any symptoms so we were both in shock and surprised. In these last four years, I have developed a strong belief in a higher power and I believe that he is involved in our daily lives. I believe that simply because I woke up for another day. There has been several times during my life that I probably should not have survived. I have been living with and fighting and overcoming Stage 4 lung cancer and 11 brain tumors for four years. After receiving radiation, I am very forgetful and it’s hard to articulate my thoughts. My faith in the higher power has not always been as strong, but it gets stronger everyday. God has gotten me through, so therefore I will continue to believe in God, his son Jesus Christ who died for me, and open my heart for him to guide me daily. I try to spread kindness to everyone we meet, and through our Facebook group, Simple Life. I try my best to be the very best version of myself and spread love in all I meet. I really wish I could still work to earn extra money to help us pay our bills. But I can’t because I forget things so easily and I have started having seizures. I don’t want to leave Melanie straddled with bills when God decides it’s my time. I sit and think about this all the time. I am at peace and ready when God is ready for me. But I pray that I get more time with Melanie and we are able to pay all of the bills. Although I am at peace, I am very stressed at times worrying about Melanie. Therefore I am setting up this GoFundMe to help us with bills and to reduce stress. I have never asked for anything during my life. I have prayed about this several times and think this is where God has led me. We welcome any and all donations and will be so grateful to you. The photo is of Camp Nelson in Nicholasville, Kentucky.
