Donate to Support the Neilio’s through Brain Surgery, organized by Lauren Neilio

I’m trying to raise funds to get the correct treatment for my epilepsy that has been uncontrolled. on Monday, July 3rd, 2023 lauren was driving when she had a sudden, unexpected seizure which caused her to lose consciousness, control, and ultimately totaled her car into a tree. The hospital dismissed her condition, and discharged her with only a concussion as diagnosis. The next morning, her husband woke up to her seizing again.  It is rare to be diagnosed with epilepsy between the ages of 10-50.  This has caused Lauren to face challenges with everyday life. She cannot work, drive, and has days where she can barely function due to seizures.  It has been 13 months of experiencing tonic-clonic seizures. A hospitalization in Milwaukee was necessary to find out what FDA approved anti convulsant device she is compatible with.  The hospitalization with Video EEG revealed seizures beginning in the left side of the brain, some passing to the right and back to the left depending on the type of seizure. It was abnormal.  There are more tests I need to complete before a treatment plan is developed due to the abnormal results.  The testing includes:  ✅Functional MRI  PET scan  ✅MEG ✅SPECT   and potentially an Invasive EEG (where electrodes are placed inside my brain) a panel of neurologists, epileptologists, and brain surgeons present me a care plan to hopefully control the seizures I’ve endured for a year.  Potential treatment is as follows: Resective surgery is the most common epilepsy surgery. It involves the removal of a small portion of the brain. The surgeon cuts out brain tissue from the area of the brain where seizures occur. Laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT) is less invasive than resective surgery. It uses a laser to pinpoint and destroy a small portion of brain tissue. Deep brain stimulation is the use of a device that is placed permanently deep inside the brain. The device releases regularly timed electrical signals that disrupt seizure-inducing activity. Corpus callosotomy is surgery to completely or partially remove the part of the brain that connects nerves on the right and left sides of the brain. Risks due to the potential procedure are:  -Memory and language problems that can affect the ability to understand and use language  -Visual impairment where the fields of vision of the eyes overlap  -Depression or other mood changes that can affect social relationships  -Headache  -Stroke After the surgery, I will not be able to work for another 1-3 months. I will continue to take anti seizure medication along with the potential device that may be implanted, and 2/3 people do not encounter seizures anymore, but some still do.  We’re hoping this surgery controls my condition with as little side effects possible.  Thank you sincerely to all who are supporting our family with medical bills, lodging, meals, care for our dogs. I couldn’t be more grateful.  Read more

Why GoFundMe Articles and URLs Appear on Our Website and How We Support Other GoFundMe Campaigns

At LFEBridge Foundation, we are dedicated to creating a platform where individuals and organizations can maximize their fundraising efforts. As part of our commitment to supporting a wide range of causes, we incorporate articles and URLs from GoFundMe into our website. Here’s why you might see GoFundMe content on our site, how it benefits the fundraising community, and our relationship with GoFundMe:

1. Amplifying Reach for Fundraising Campaigns

How We Help Other GoFundMe Campaigns Grow

  • Rotating Features: To ensure a diverse range of campaigns get visibility, we regularly rotate the featured campaigns. This continuous update keeps the content fresh and engaging for our audience.

2. Social Media Promotion

  • Sharing Across Platforms: We share selected GoFundMe campaigns on our social media channels to reach a broader audience. Our followers, in turn, can share these posts, amplifying the reach even further.

  • Engagement Strategies: Utilizing effective engagement strategies, such as storytelling and compelling visuals, we enhance the appeal of these campaigns, driving more traffic and donations.

LFEBridge Foundation's Independence

It’s important to clarify that LFEBridge Foundation is an independent entity and is not part of or affiliated with GoFundMe. While we feature and support GoFundMe campaigns on our site, we operate as a separate foundation dedicated to collecting donations for various causes, similar to GoFundMe. Many of these causes are displayed on our website to provide donors with a wide range of options to support.
