Luis Diaz is organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Martha Guerrero. Martha is a 40-year-old mother who, on November 28th, 2023, began experiencing severe pain that initially caused weakness in her legs. This condition quickly worsened, resulting in partial immobility of her lower limbs, requiring medication to manage the incapacitating pain. She is currently undergoing treatment with pregabalin, a very strong medication that keeps her sedated. The tests revealed Radicular Compression Syndrome / Secondary Canal Stenosis (2 herniated discs), causing intense, recurrent pain radiating to her buttocks, thighs, and down to her calf, leading to significant leg weakness. She needs surgery to remove the herniated discs and replace them with ALIF intervertebral implants. This injury severely limits her daily life, rendering her unable to perform simple tasks such as dressing, going to the bathroom, or washing herself, let alone making sudden movements or carrying even the lightest objects. Consequently, she is unable to care for her 2½-year-old daughter. Lacking the financial resources for this surgery, we are seeking the economic assistance needed to face and overcome this situation before the injury worsens. There is a risk that the disc could collapse completely and protrude, potentially causing irreversible damage. This could lead to the brain disconnecting from the compressed nerve endings, resulting in a permanent loss of sensation in the affected area, which cannot be reversed. Martha es una madre de 40 años, el día 28 de noviembre del 2023 presentó un fuerte dolor, el cual inicialmente le produjo debilidad en las piernas, esta condición rápidamente se agravó ocasionando inmovilidad parcial de las extremidades inferior debiendo ser medicada para tratar el dolor que la incapacita, actualmente se encuentra bajo tratamiento con pregabalina un medicamento muy fuerte que la mantiene sedada, los estudios realizados detectaron un Síndrome de compresión radicular / estenosis de canal secundario (2 Hernias discales), presentando dolor intenso y recurrente que irradia a los glúteos, muslos y llegando hasta la pantorrilla, por lo que ha perdido fuerza en las piernas y debe ser sometida a una cirugía en la cual le deben sacar los discos herniados y sustituirlos por implantes intervertebrales tipo ALIF. Esta lesión la limita mucho en su vida diaria, manteniéndose en incapacidad la cual le impide realizar tareas tan sencilla como vestirse, ir al baño o asearse, mucho menos realizar movimientos bruscos o cargar nada de peso por muy pequeño que este sea, por lo tanto se le hace imposible atender a su hija, una niña de 2½ años. Al no contar con los recursos para afrontar dicha cirugía pedimos la ayuda económica que necesita para poder afrontar y superar la situación por la cual está pasando antes de que la lesión se agrave, debido a que existe el riesgo de que el disco termine de colapsar y se protruya lo cual podría generar un daño irreversible, debido a que el cerebro al dejar de recibir señales de las terminaciones nerviosas comprimidas este las desconecta perdiendo toda sensibilidad en la zona, lo que es absolutamente imposible de revertir, les pedimos que nos incluyan en sus oraciones.
