Hello, we're Connor and Stephanie from Puerto Rico . Thank your for your interest. We're reaching out to kind hearts that wish to help us during a difficult time as we're currently expecting our first baby in around 2 months a half as for today September 24th of 2024.
Our Story: As we got ready to get married we were so excited about our new lives together, after 7 years of relationship we knew for sure it was meant to be, God blessed us with each other. We planned, organized and separated the venue for our perfect wedding but were surprised with what came next.
Unfortunately, just a few weeks before our wedding the government called for a total lockdown of businesses and curfews were added to our daily lives. We both lost our jobs and our perfect wedding was not a reality. It didn't help that we did not get the deposit money back for the venue, it broke our hearts and it was not the beginning we were expecting. We suffered the loss but held on to each other. "We are together, that's all that matters". We knew we were going to have to fight. We are still, to this day trying our best to recover from the financial issues that the lockdowns caused.
After a few years of fighting, the economy in the island got worse and worse to the point that we had to leave our apartment and seek refuge in a family member's house. We couldn't pay the rent and utilities anymore, the cost of living got too high. It is more difficult to make decent money here in Puerto Rico than in the mainland. We tried everything from different employments to our own businesses to no avail. Even though we have not seen the results we are hoping for yet we finally found a job a few months ago that has the potential to help us get out of the hole eventually with all the debt we incurred in since the lockdowns trying to survive, this is when we got the amazing news.
After Stephanie feeling a little different we went ahead and tested for pregnancy, yes and yes!! ❤️ We are so blessed to have the opportunity to be parents and bring new life to our family. As we celebrated we also got hit with the fact that we are not ready financially to have a child. We live refuged in a very small house and we barely have space for two adults. We fought for months and came to the realization that we need help.
With your support we will be able to cover expenses like prenatal care, postpartum care, our midwife (we need to pay her the full cost of services by November 13th), baby essentials like clothes, basinet, car seat, stroller, diapers etc. and hopefully be able to gather enough money to pay a deposit and first month of rent in a bigger apartment where we can have enough space for our baby (We still don't know if its a baby boy or baby girl! ⁉️). The estimated date of birth is on December 11th, 2 months and a half from now and we still don't have anything yet.
We could take not having our wedding and we can take not having a baby shower for our first born but we cannot take not being able to provide for our baby's essential needs. Hola, somos Connor y Stephanie de Puerto Rico . Gracias por su interés. Estamos escribiendo a corazones bondadosos que deseen ayudarnos en un momento difícil, ya que actualmente esperamos a nuestro primer bebé en aproximadamente dos meses y medio, a partir de hoy, 24 de septiembre de 2024.
Nuestra Historia: Mientras nos preparábamos para casarnos, estábamos muy emocionados por nuestras nuevas vidas juntos. Después de 7 años de relación, sabíamos con certeza que estábamos destinados a estar juntos. Dios nos bendijo el uno con el otro. Planeamos, organizamos y reservamos el lugar para nuestra boda perfecta, pero nos sorprendió lo que vino después.
Desafortunadamente, solo unas semanas antes de nuestra boda, el gobierno decretó un cierre total de los negocios y se impusieron toques de queda en nuestras vidas diarias. Ambos perdimos nuestros empleos y nuestra boda perfecta no se pudo realizar. No ayudó que no nos devolvieran el dinero del depósito del evento, lo que nos rompió el corazón y no fue el comienzo que esperábamos. Sufrimos la pérdida, pero nos aferramos el uno al otro. "Estamos juntos, eso es lo que importa". Sabíamos que tendríamos que luchar. Todavía, hasta el día de hoy, estamos haciendo todo lo posible para recuperarnos de los problemas financieros que los cierres totales causaron.
Después de unos años luchando, la economía en la isla ha empeorado cada vez más, al punto que tuvimos que dejar nuestro apartamento y buscar refugio en la casa de un familiar. Ya no podíamos pagar el alquiler ni las utilidades, el costo de vida se volvió muy alto. Es más difícil ganar un buen salario aquí en Puerto Rico que en Estados Unidos. Intentamos de todo, desde nuestros propios negocios y diferentes empleos, sin mucho éxito. Aunque aún no hemos visto los resultados que esperamos, finalmente encontramos un trabajo hace unos meses que tiene el potencial de ayudarnos a salir del hoyo con todas las deudas que acumulamos desde los cierres, tratando de sobrevivir. Fue entonces cuando recibimos la increíble noticia.
Después de que Stephanie se sintiera un poco diferente, decidimos hacernos una prueba de embarazo, ¡sí y sí! ❤️ Estamos tan bendecidos de tener la oportunidad de ser padres y traer una nueva vida a nuestra familia. Mientras celebrábamos, también nos chocamos con la realidad de que no estamos preparados financieramente para tener un hijo. Vivimos refugiados en una casa muy pequeña y apenas tenemos espacio para dos adultos. Luchamos durante meses y llegamos a la conclusión de que necesitamos ayuda.
Con su apoyo, podremos cubrir gastos como el cuidado prenatal, nuestra partera (tenemos que pagarle el costo total de sus servicios antes del 13 de noviembre), artículos esenciales para el bebé como ropa, moisés, asiento para el auto, coche, pañales, etc., y con suerte podremos reunir suficiente dinero para pagar un depósito y el primer mes de alquiler en un apartamento más grande donde podamos tener espacio suficiente para nuestro bebé (¡Aún no sabemos si es niño o niña! ⁉️). La fecha estimada de nacimiento es el 11 de diciembre (en dos meses y medio), y aún no tenemos nada.
Podemos aceptar no tener nuestra boda perfecta, podríamos aceptar no tener un baby shower para nuestro primogénito, pero no podemos aceptar no poder proporcionar lo esencial para nuestro bebé.
