Donate to Help Marianne and Adam Through a Medical Crisis, organized by Katherine Sherman

My name is Katherine and I am helping my sister-in-law, Marianne, raise funds as her husband (my brother), Adam, recovers from a traumatic medical event. Marianne is hard at work keeping some normalcy at home for their daughter, Isabella, and 2 dogs, Zeke and Bear, managing the piles of paperwork/forms and phone calls with Kaiser, hospitals, nurses and doctors, and Adam's employer. And celebrating their daughter's 13th birthday, too! On Saturday, November 2nd, Adam was outside on their front porch in the East Bay, brushing their beloved furry dogs, and tripped over one of them, falling down the front steps. He was transported to the nearest hospital in Walnut Creek. This fall caused a couple of broken ribs, which punctured his lung, and his spleen also needed to be removed. A few days after the surgery to remove his spleen, he developed blood clots in his lungs. These were also removed and he was seemingly on his way to recovery. Overnight, on Friday, November 8th, Adam suffered a pulmonary embolism which then caused cardiac arrest (his heart to stop). The medical staff at John Muir Hospital-Walnut Creek put Adam on life support and he was transported to UCSF hospital on Saturday. He was on an ECMO machine, which takes over the functions of a patient's heart and lungs. He spent a few days at UCSF on five different machines and many medications aiding his body's systems. Once stabilized and a bed available, he was transferred to the Cardiac ICU at Kaiser in Santa Clara. He spent the next 9 days there, on ECMO, while his heart and lungs had a chance to rest and heal. He was mostly sedated during this time, however most days they did lessen the sedation for small periods of time to try to determine how he was doing, and if he could respond to basic commands. On Tuesday, November 19th, they determined that Adam was strong enough to have the ECMO machine removed and he underwent that surgical procedure. He made steady progress and a few days later he was moved from the Cardiac ICU to a bed in the rehab unit. On Thanksgiving Day he was moved closer to home to continue his recovery at Kaiser in Antioch. And today, December 4th, he was moved to a physical therapy rehab center at Vallejo Kaiser. He will do intense PT 3 hours per day, to get his muscles moving again. The hope is this will be his last stop before home. This may be an additional 1-3 weeks at the rehab center. From Marianne tonight: I thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I believe Adam is going to need a lot more care once he gets home. This will be some challenging financial times for us, but SOOO AMAZING when he finally comes home!!❤️ So please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Adam is loved and we miss him so very much. Marianne's love for Adam is deep, and her caring and open heart for her family and friends is one of her greatest gifts. Through these trying times, she has been the rock for their family and has handled everything that has come their way—bills to be paid, car to be towed/fixed, calls to so many, groceries, meals, updates to family, kiddo's birthday to celebrate... And every single day, grace, hope, appreciation AND prayers, so many prayers. And they are being answered, daily! Help give them peace of mind—so Adam can focus on his PT and Marianne can support him and their family. Know that your contribution to these fundraising efforts will help lessen the financial worries about how this is all going to work for the next few months. Between unexpected medical bills, housing/food/auto, getting things ready for Adam to come home and not really knowing what his recovery will look like. Thank you for your consideration and support. Why GoFundMe Articles and URLs Appear on Our Website?

Why GoFundMe Articles and URLs Appear on Our Website and How We Support Other GoFundMe Campaigns

At LFEBridge Foundation, we are dedicated to creating a platform where individuals and organizations can maximize their fundraising efforts. As part of our commitment to supporting a wide range of causes, we incorporate articles and URLs from GoFundMe into our website. Here’s why you might see GoFundMe content on our site, how it benefits the fundraising community, and our relationship with GoFundMe:

1. Amplifying Reach for Fundraising Campaigns

  • Increased Visibility: By featuring GoFundMe articles and URLs on our platform, we help increase the visibility of various fundraising campaigns. This additional exposure can attract more donors and supporters, helping campaigns achieve their goals more quickly.

  • Cross-Promotional Opportunities: Highlighting campaigns from GoFundMe allows us to support a broader spectrum of causes and connect with a wider audience. This cross-promotion benefits both the campaign organizers and potential donors looking for causes to support.

2. Supporting Campaign Growth

  • Advertising and Promotion: We understand the importance of visibility in successful fundraising. By showcasing GoFundMe campaigns, we provide an advertising platform that helps these campaigns reach potential donors who might not have discovered them otherwise.

  • Strategic Partnerships: Collaborating with GoFundMe and featuring their campaigns on our site strengthens the fundraising ecosystem, ensuring that worthwhile causes receive the attention and support they deserve.

3. Expanding Donor Networks

  • Broader Donor Base: Featuring a variety of campaigns from different platforms helps diversify and expand the donor base. This means more people can learn about and contribute to a variety of causes, ultimately driving higher engagement and donations.

  • Enhanced Outreach: By integrating GoFundMe content, we help campaigns tap into new networks and communities, broadening their reach and potential impact.

How We Help Other GoFundMe Campaigns Grow

1. Featured Campaigns Section

  • Highlighting Noteworthy Campaigns: We have a dedicated section on our website where we feature noteworthy GoFundMe campaigns. This not only gives these campaigns a spotlight but also encourages visitors to explore and contribute to them.

  • Rotating Features: To ensure a diverse range of campaigns get visibility, we regularly rotate the featured campaigns. This continuous update keeps the content fresh and engaging for our audience.

2. Social Media Promotion

  • Sharing Across Platforms: We share selected GoFundMe campaigns on our social media channels to reach a broader audience. Our followers, in turn, can share these posts, amplifying the reach even further.

  • Engagement Strategies: Utilizing effective engagement strategies, such as storytelling and compelling visuals, we enhance the appeal of these campaigns, driving more traffic and donations.

3. Email Newsletters

  • Campaign Highlights: Our email newsletters often include highlights of impactful GoFundMe campaigns. By doing so, we bring these causes directly to the inboxes of our subscribers, encouraging more people to get involved and donate.

  • Donor Updates: We keep our donors informed about the progress and success of the campaigns they have supported, fostering a sense of community and continued engagement.

LFEBridge Foundation's Independence

It’s important to clarify that LFEBridge Foundation is an independent entity and is not part of or affiliated with GoFundMe. While we feature and support GoFundMe campaigns on our site, we operate as a separate foundation dedicated to collecting donations for various causes, similar to GoFundMe. Many of these causes are displayed on our website to provide donors with a wide range of options to support.

Conclusion

By featuring GoFundMe articles and URLs on our website, LFEBridge Foundation supports a wide array of fundraising campaigns, helping them gain the visibility and donations they need to succeed.
