Hello, My name is Derek and I've struggled for the last 6 months to write this. After finally reaching my breaking point and being pressured into making this, I'm afraid I have nowhere else to turn to and must rely on the kindness of strangers. In addition to dealing with daily debilitating issues (Panic Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, PTSD, OSA), I have been diagnosed with Prostate cancer. Thankfully I am young, and it was caught early, which means it's very treatable. Unfortunately, due to the current economy and a recent layoff from a company I was working for, I have had to go the self-employment route. Up until my diagnosis, I was managing okay, but balancing medical, rent, food, mental and other daily / weekly expenses, I've come under the hole and I'm finding it very hard to get myself back up. A myriad of issues have happened over the course of the last decade. I've lost a lot of people I care about, most recently my step father, Steve, a retired US Navy Seal whom I had to bury. On top of that, I've had to take care of my mother who's mental health is rapidly declining, along with her physical health. I am usually everyone's rock, their emotional support, and at times, their financial support, and while I've had a little bit of help a long the way from some very caring, loving, and irreplaceable people in my life, I can't seem to get ahead while I'm in debt and also needing surgery. This goal is created to resolve 3 main issues: 1) Getting my copay covered for medical expenses (because I don't qualify for free health insurance) 2) Getting caught up on rent so that I have a roof over my head. 3) Getting out of the debt I'm in so I can continue being that rock that everyone needs. I really could use your help, sincerely.
