Helft Sarah, ihr Leben zurückzugewinnen: Kampf gegen chronische Nebenwirkungen
Hallo, liebe Freunde, Bekannte und auch jede/r die von dieser Aktion gehört hat. Ich wende mich an euch, da ich seit über 2 Jahren einen Alptraum erlebe.
Mein Höllenritt begann im Februar 2022, als mich aus bis dahin unbekannten Gründen seit Monaten extrem starke Unterleibsschmerzen quälten. Ich rannte von Arzt zu Arzt, keiner konnte mir helfen, die Ursache zu finden und zu behandeln. Ich ging dann zu einem weiteren Gynäkologen und dieser verschrieb mir trotz negativem Abstrichbefund das Antibiotikum Levofloxacin, ein Reserveantibiotikum aus der Gruppe der sog. Fluorchinolone.
Das Antibiotikum ist bekannt dafür, schwere, langanhaltende und teils irreversible Nebenwirkungen im Bereich der Sehnen, Muskeln und Nervensystem auszulösen. Inzwischen existieren in Bezug auf diese Antibiotikaklasse mehrere Rote-Hand-Briefe, die vorschreiben, diese Medikamentenklasse ausschließlich für lebensbedrohliche Infektionen und nur nach einer sorgfältigen Nutzen-Risiko-Bewertung einzusetzen. Das wurde in meinem Fall nicht beachtet. Ich erleide seitdem massive Nebenwirkungen, die teilweise bis heute anhalten. Dieser Nebenwirkungs-Symptomkomplex, genannt FQAD, hat sich so stark entwickelt, dass alltägliche Aufgaben und selbst die kleinsten Dinge des Lebens zu einer großen Herausforderung geworden sind. Chronische Schmerzen, Nervenschäden und tiefe Erschöpfung gehören seitdem zum Alltag – Beschwerden, die nicht nur den Körper, sondern auch die Seele stark belasten. Dinge, die einst selbstverständlich waren, wie ein Spaziergang oder eine einfache Unterhaltung, sind auch heute noch oft nur noch mit großer Anstrengung möglich.
Die eigentliche Ursache der Unterleibsschmerzen stellte sich später als Endometriose heraus, eine sehr schmerzhafte entzündliche Erkrankung der Bauchorgane bei Frauen. Auch diese Erkrankung bringt massive Einschränkungen und Schmerzen mit sich, wird jedoch leider nicht ausreichend erforscht, da nicht genügend Gelder dafür zur Verfügung gestellt werden.
Ich habe damals kurz nach der Antibiotikagabe meinen Job verloren, da ich zu nichts mehr in der Lage war. Die negativen Auswirkungen auf mein soziales Umfeld waren massiv, sind es bis heute. Viele Freunde habe ich verloren, konnte nicht mehr am sozialen Geschehen teilnehmen. Es kam zu extremen familiären Konflikten. Die Auswirkungen auf meine Psyche waren bzw. sind massiv.
Ich habe mich in die privatärztliche Behandlung eines Spezialisten begeben, dessen Kosten ich komplett selbst zahlen muss. Dafür habe ich bis heute mehrere tausende Euro insgesamt ausgegeben.
Ich bin mittlerweile in die Erwerbsminderungsrente gerutscht, nach zwei anstrengenden und zustandsverschlimmernden Rehas, und es war ein sehr anstrengender Weg durch die Bürokratie, den ich neben der Erkrankung noch abwickeln musste, um überhaupt EMR zu bekommen. Diese läuft im Oktober 2025 aus, was danach ist, ich weiß es nicht.
Die Erwerbsminderungsrente reicht nicht zum Leben, sodass meine Eltern mir monatlich helfen müssen. Jedoch ist auch ihre Rücklage mittlerweile aufgebraucht. Ich gehe inzwischen auch bei der Tafel einkaufen, da es für den normalen Supermarkt nicht mehr ausreicht.
Ich habe den entsprechenden Arzt angeklagt, und diesen Monat leider erfahren, dass ich das Verfahren leider verloren habe. Für eine Berufung fehlt mir nun das Geld, da ich die Gegenpartei bei negativem Verfahrensausgang bezahlen muss. Das sind nun ohne die Berufungskosten ca 5000 Euro nur bis heute. Der Arzt wird somit ohne Strafe davonkommen, obwohl er mir mein Leben zerstört hat. Ich habe Recht und Gerechtigkeit eingefordert und wurde dafür nun bestraft. Wie kann das sein fragt ihr euch? Ich musste herausfinden, dass die Angst vor den Pharmakonzernen zu groß ist. Man will keinen Präzedenzfall schaffen, denn das wäre richtungsweisend für einen verschärften Umgang mit diesen Antibiotika. Doch niemand will sich heranwagen. Selbst eine geplante TV-Dokumentation über meinen Fall wurde wieder eingestampft aus Angst vor Konsequenzen.
Leider ist es tatsächlich immernoch so, dass diese Antiobiotika in Massen verschrieben werden, auch bzw gerade in Krankenhäusern, damit man den Patienten möglichst „effizient“ behandelt.
Ich habe mich nun entschlossen, dass es so nicht weitergehen kann. Ich bin eine echte Kämpferin, habe immer an einen guten Ausgang meiner Situation geglaubt, aber selbst ich komme langsam an meine Grenzen nach so langer Zeit. Die finanzielle Belastung und die damit verbundenen Existenzängste fressen meinen Körper und meine Seele auf. Und gerade Stress müsste ich eigentlich in meinem Zustand vermeiden – ein Teufelskreis!
Ich habe mir trotzdem ein Ziel gesetzt. Ich würde zukünftig gerne als Heilpraktikerin für Psychotherapie arbeiten, um anderen Betroffenen helfen zu können. Diese Ausbildung kostet jedoch auch sehr viel Geld, würde mir jedoch auch Kraft geben, da ich unbedingt wieder eine Vision vor Augen brauche.
Ich bitte euch daher um eure finanzielle Unterstützung, damit ich wieder auf die Beine kommen kann, mein Leben wieder zurückgewinnen kann. Jeder Euro hilft mir dabei und gibt mir Hoffnung und Zuversicht, dass das nicht das Ende für mich sein soll. Ich verspreche euch, ich werde mein Lächeln nicht verlieren, trotz allem!

Help Sarah get her life back: Fighting chronic side effects
Hello, dear friends, acquaintances and everyone who has heard about this campaign. I am turning to you because I have been living a nightmare for over 2 years.
My hell ride began in February 2022, when, for reasons unknown at the time, I had been suffering from extremely severe abdominal pain for months. I ran from doctor to doctor, but no one could help me find and treat the cause. I then went to another gynecologist and, despite a negative smear test result, he prescribed me the antibiotic levofloxacin, a reserve antibiotic from the group of so-called fluoroquinolones.
The antibiotic is known to cause severe, long-lasting and sometimes irreversible side effects in the tendons, muscles and nervous system. There are now several red-hand letters regarding this class of antibiotics, which stipulate that this class of medication should only be used for life-threatening infections and only after a careful benefit-risk assessment. This was not taken into account in my case. Since then, I have suffered from massive side effects, some of which continue to this day. This side effect symptom complex, known as FQAD, has developed so strongly that everyday tasks and even the smallest things in life have become a major challenge. Chronic pain, nerve damage and deep exhaustion have been part of everyday life since then - complaints that place a great burden not only on the body but also on the soul. Things that were once taken for granted, such as a walk or a simple conversation, are often only possible today with great effort.
The actual cause of the abdominal pain later turned out to be endometriosis, a very painful inflammatory disease of the abdominal organs in women. This disease also causes massive restrictions and pain, but unfortunately is not being adequately researched because not enough money is made available for it.
I lost my job shortly after I was given antibiotics because I was no longer able to do anything. The negative effects on my social environment were massive, and still are today. I lost many friends and could no longer take part in social activities. Extreme family conflicts arose. The effects on my psyche were and are massive.
I went to a specialist for private medical treatment, the costs of which I have to pay in full myself. To date, I have spent several thousand euros on this.
I have now slipped into disability pension, after two exhausting and worsening rehabilitations, and it was a very exhausting path through the bureaucracy that I had to deal with in addition to the illness in order to even get EMR. This expires in October 2025, what happens after that, I don't know.
The disability pension is not enough to live on, so my parents have to help me every month. However, their reserves have now also been used up. I now also go shopping at the food bank, as there is no longer enough for the normal supermarket.
I sued the doctor in question and unfortunately found out this month that I lost the case. I don't have the money to appeal because I have to pay the opposing party if the case ends negatively. That's around 5000 euros just up to today, without the appeal costs. The doctor will therefore get away without punishment, even though he ruined my life. I demanded justice and fairness and have now been punished for it. How can that be, you ask? I had to find out that the fear of the pharmaceutical companies is too great. They don't want to set a precedent because that would point the way to a more stringent use of these antibiotics. But nobody wants to dare to do it. Unfortunately, these antibiotics are still being prescribed in large quantities, including or especially in hospitals, so that patients can be treated as "efficiently" as possible.
I have now decided that things cannot continue like this. I am a real fighter and have always believed that my situation would have a good outcome, but even I am slowly reaching my limits after such a long time. The financial burden and the associated fears for my existence are eating away at my body and soul. And in my current condition, I should really be avoiding stress - a vicious circle!
I have nevertheless set myself a goal. In the future, I would like to work as a psychotherapist so that I can help other sufferers. This training costs a lot of money, but it would also give me strength, as I absolutely need to have a vision in mind again.
I am therefore asking you for your financial support so that I can get back on my feet and get my life back. Every euro helps me and gives me hope and confidence that this is not the end for me. I promise you, I will not lose my smile, despite everything!
