+++ English below +++ Dear friends, chosen family, allies and strangers, Mein Name ist Charlie, ich bin 35 Jahre alt und identifiziere mich als queere nicht-binäre Person. Wie die meisten nicht-binären und transidenten Personen, habe ich bis hier hin bereits so einige Hürden nehmen müssen – Einige davon musste ich allein bewältigen, einige konnte ich durch nur mit Unterstützung meistern. Meine Gender- und Körperdysphorie begleiten mich seit Beginn meiner Pubertät. Ich habe mich angepasst, mich abgegrenzt und zurückgezogen. Ich habe meinen Schmerz viel zu lange für mich behalten. Aber ich habe mir auch die nötige Zeit genommen um meine Identität, nun mit mehr Stolz und Selbstsicherheit als je zuvor, anzunehmen und zu leben. Seit dem ich mich dazu entschlossen habe eine Mastektomie durchführen zu lassen, sind einige Jahre vergangen und viele Dinge passiert. Während ich versucht habe Elternsein, Arbeit, Studium und Privatleben unter einen Hut zu kriegen, bin ich an meine Belastungsgrenze gekommen und so an den Anforderungen der Krankenkasse zur Kostenübernahme meiner Mastektomie gescheitert. Trans*feindliche Erfahrungen mit Fachärzt*innen und der Beschluss des Bundessozialgerichts vom Oktober 2023 ,(„Geschlechtsangleichende Operationen für non-binäre Personen stellen derzeit keine Kassenleistung dar“), haben zusätzlich fast dazu geführt, mein Ziel aus den Augen und die Hoffnung zu verlieren. Nach langer Überlegung habe ich mich daher dazu entschlossen, meine Mastektomie als Selbstzahler*in in einer Privatklinik in Düsseldorf durchführen zu lassen. Da es mir der Zeit leider nicht möglich ist die anfallenden Kosten selbst zu tragen, gehe ich hiermit den Weg den bereits viele vor mir gegangen sind und den wahrscheinlich auch noch viele nach mir gehen müssen.
