Nuestro tío, José Rafael Blanco Martínez, ha sido diagnosticado con cáncer y necesitamos ayuda para cubrir los gastos de su tratamiento. En el año 2022, el tío José se sometió a unos estudios de Rayos X preoperatorios con el fin de prepararse para una cirugía de cataratas. Durante estos exámenes, se detectó una lesión ocupante de espacio (LOE) en el lado izquierdo del pulmón, de aspecto cavitado. Después de dos punciones, diversos estudios y una intervención quirúrgica, se logró extirpar parcialmente el tumor y liberar los nervios afectados, lo que resultó en el cese del dolor agudo en esa zona. Posteriormente, una biopsia confirmó que se trataba de un Carcinoma Epidermoide bien diferenciado, un tipo de tumor maligno. Sin embargo, hubo buenas noticias, ya que se determinó que esta condición era tratable y tenía un pronóstico favorable, siempre y cuando se sometiera a un tratamiento de quimioterapia. El tratamiento de quimioterapia se llevó a cabo en dos ciclos. Sin embargo, los resultados no fueron los esperados. El tumor no se ha extendido, pero tampoco ha disminuido como esperábamos. Por lo tanto, es necesario iniciar con urgencia un ciclo de 30 aplicaciones de radioterapia, que abarcaría un mes y medio de tratamiento. Este procedimiento debe realizarse en la ciudad de Puerto Ordaz, la cual se encuentra más cercana a El Tigre, donde reside nuestro tío José, a aproximadamente unas 3 horas de distancia por tierra, por lo que tendremos que costear los gastos de traslado y alojamiento en esa ciudad. Nuestro tío se encuentra agotado después del tratamiento y de enfrentarse a varias transfusiones, así como a las secuelas de los químicos. Además, su vista se está volviendo cada vez más nublada debido a las cataratas, sin embargo, está decidido a seguir adelante y luchar por su vida. Lamentablemente, en Venezuela no existe la posibilidad de recibir asistencia del Estado para casos como este, por lo que hemos tenido que hacer grandes esfuerzos para reunir los recursos necesarios para la operación y los tratamientos posteriores. No ha sido nada fácil, los recursos de la familia se fueron extinguiendo hasta quedar totalmente agotados con los primeros tratamientos y la cirugía. Por esta razón, nos vemos en la necesidad de recurrir a la solidaridad humana para cubrir el costo del tratamiento de radioterapia y los estudios radiológicos. La vida de nuestro tío depende de ello.
