Hello , wonderful friends and supporters! My name is Matty and I’m a puppet fabricator, puppeteer and storyteller. Thank you for taking a moment to read about my project! For the past year, I have been creating a fun and engaging kids show with puppets called The Fundles. It will center around a cast of lovable woodland creatures called Fundles and will be modeled after Sesame Street and The Fraggles. The Fundles are a family of magical creatures that live in the forest surrounded by other mystical creatures such as elves, fairies, and Gnomes. To nurture the spiritual growth of children; each episode will touch on subjects like mindfulness, meditation, compassion, and connection to something greater than ourselves. Some of the topics would include energy healing, consciousness, chakras, crystals and even what to do when it’s Mercury Retrograde! Growing up, I was absolutely fascinated by the worlds Jim Henson created and the stories he told! It seems like since my hero passed away, I’ve been waiting for a new puppet show to be excited about again. I decided I would wait no more and teach myself how to fabricate puppets and to become a puppeteer. It’s been a life long dream of mine to make a show that kids and adults can laugh at like how I used to watching The Muppets. With The Fundles, I not only have the opportunity to do that, but I can also help foster a sense of wonder and awe in children by exploring the beauty and mystery of the world around them. All while teaching them about the importance of mindfulness, compassion, and self-awareness and how to connect with their inner selves to discover their own unique gifts and talents.
