My name is Claudia, a 52-year-old artist from Argentina currently living in Palermo, Italy. My journey has been one of reinvention, resilience, and creativity.
In 2019, I moved to Palermo after making a life-changing decision to start anew. I began collaborating with a health facility as a graphic designer, leveraging my professional skills. Unfortunately, the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted my work, leaving me at a crossroads.
After a moment of reflection, I asked myself: What do I have to offer the world? The answer was simple—creativity.
Turning Recycled Materials into Unique Art Support My Journey: From Recycled Art to Economic Independence
Living in Palermo, I noticed that many discarded items were being thrown away in my neighborhood. Inspired, I began collecting these materials and learning how to transform them into something beautiful. Using tools like drills, sanders, and grinders, I crafted interior decor pieces such as lamps, sculptures, and paintings—all made from recycled materials.
Today, I combine these creations with my passion for painting, resulting in one-of-a-kind art that brings me joy and pride.
How I Share My Work
To sell my creations, I pack them into a trolley, hitch it to my bicycle, and head to Palermo's pedestrian zones. I’ve received permission to exhibit and sell my art there. Occasionally, I travel across Sicily to participate in markets, sharing my work with new audiences.
My Vision for Growth in 2025
This year, I aim to expand my reach and achieve financial independence through a more ambitious plan. With your help, I can:
1. Buy a used electric bicycle to ease transportation of my heavy trolley.
2. Participate in national artisan fairs during May, August, September, and December. These events would expose my work to a larger audience and help me grow my customer base.
3. Repair an old motorhome offered to me, allowing me to travel and cut accommodation costs during fairs.
4. Purchase essential equipment, such as a bench saw, wood cutter, and hot press, to improve the quality and variety of my work.

Mi chiamo Claudia, sono una artista argentina di 52 anni che attualmente vive a Palermo, in Italia. Il mio viaggio è stato fatto di reinvenzione, resilienza e creatività.
Nel 2019 mi sono trasferita a Palermo dopo aver preso la decisione di ricominciare da capo, cambiando la mia vita. Ho iniziato a collaborare con una struttura sanitaria come grafica, mettendo a frutto le mie competenze professionali. Purtroppo la pandemia di Covid-19 ha interrotto il mio lavoro, lasciandomi di fronte a un bivio.
Dopo un momento di riflessione mi sono chiesto: cosa ho da offrire al mondo? La risposta era semplice: “la creatività”.

Vivendo a Palermo, ho notato che molti oggetti di scarto venivano buttati nel mio quartiere. Ho iniziato a raccogliere questi materiali e ad imparare come trasformarli in qualcosa di bello. Utilizzando strumenti come trapani, levigatrici e smerigliatrici, ho realizzato pezzi di arredamento per interni come lampade, sculture e dipinti, tutti realizzati con materiali riciclati.
Oggi unisco queste creazioni con la mia passione per la pittura, dando vita a un'arte unica nel suo genere che mi dà gioia e orgoglio.
Come condivido il mio lavoro
Per vendere le mie creazioni, le metto in un trolley, lo attacco alla bicicletta e mi dirigo verso le zone pedonali di Palermo. Ho ricevuto il permesso di esporre e vendere la mia arte lì. Occasionalmente viaggio attraverso la Sicilia per partecipare ai mercatini, condividendo il mio lavoro con un nuovo pubblico.
La mia visione per la crescita nel 2025
Quest’anno il mio obiettivo è espandere la mia portata e raggiungere l’indipendenza finanziaria attraverso un piano più ambizioso. Con il tuo aiuto, posso:
1. Acquista una bicicletta elettrica usata per facilitare il trasporto del mio carrello pesante.
2. Partecipare alle fiere nazionali dell'artigianato nei mesi di maggio, agosto, settembre e dicembre. Questi eventi avrebbero esposto il mio lavoro a un pubblico più vasto e mi avrebbero aiutato a far crescere la mia base di clienti.
3. Riparare un vecchio camper che mi è stato messo a disposizione, permettendomi di viaggiare e ridurre le spese di soggiorno durante le fiere.
4. Acquistare attrezzature essenziali, come una sega da banco, un taglialegna e una pressa a caldo, per migliorare la qualità e la varietà del mio lavoro.
