Hi, I’m Mouhamadou Deme, a bilingual teacher here in St Louis MO and a social entrepreneur. I am also a volunteer at https://stlvillage.org/ which is described by these words Community, Connection, Caring, a not-for-profit membership organization in St.Louis and https://irishparade.org/ , The Metropolitan St. Patrick’s Day Parade In St. Louis, Inc. (the “Parade”) is a Missouri nonprofit corporation. Since July 2024, I have launched this campaign,”Empower Young Minds”: English Language Books for ELL in rural schools in Senegal. As our school here in St Louis was getting rid of thousands of ELA books, mostly brand new and unused, boxed as they were purchased, I stepped in at the right time and requested to collect as many boxes of books as I could. Well these books would all have ended in a dumpster, hadn’t I shared my cause,Empower English Language Learners and Teachers in rural schools,Senegal, with our staff. Then with the help of very dedicated, kind & committed volunteers in St Louis, we collected hundreds of these books, all brand new unused that will of course impact positively hundreds of kids and teenagers as ELL in my dearly country,Senegal. English language books are mostly very expensive, very limited and hard to find in countries like mine. So as they say one’s trash is someone’else treasure, these books are a treasure to ELL and would make a big difference with your support. Please join me in this meaningful educational journey, through your donation to make a difference in the learning and teaching English for hundreds of kids, teenagers and teachers of English in underserved remote rural communities in my lovely country, the land of hospitality. Donations will be used to help with shipping cost, will help cover storage fees for up to 2 months as we are exploring some shipping offers and will also help with hundreds of school supplies distribution in rural schools. Funds will be distributed as follows: $1500 will be used to ship between 200&230 boxes full of books; $100 or $ 200 will cover 1 month of storage and $300 will help with covering moving and loading cost.
