Hello everyone, this is Tiffany. I’m reaching out for help with this handsome big man. What started out as a routine vet appointment two weeks ago has quickly turned into an emergency situation and nightmare. Originally Brutus went into be seen for an ear infection and a hurt paw. Upon blood work and tests, we discovered elevated levels. They prescribed medication and we were sent home. 4 days later he lost his appetite. We then returned to the vet and discovered his levels severely increased. He was then diagnosed with pancreatitis. New medications were prescribed so I was feeling optimistic. He then stopped eating all together. On Friday, we went back to the vet for the third time. They performed an ultrasound which indicated a blockage in his small intestine. Since the ultrasound he has continued to refuse all food, has not had a bowl movement, is refusing water, and is now dehydrated. The only option to save my boy is emergency surgery. I’ve pulled from all financial resources to pay for the last three visits, but I’m hoping with help we can get Brutus the surgery he so desperately needs. He has been a staple in the pultneyville community for the past 9 years. He is known by friends and neighbors as the big bear of pig lane. He was also the last gift from Brian, who Brutus and I both loved so dearly. I would not be asking this if there wasn’t hope with this surgery. My heart is breaking writing this. I am thankful to everyone and anyone who is able to help because this boy deserves to continue to live his life to the fullest. Thank you all so much.
