Al-Mighdad Mahmoud, a 27-year-old Sudanese, and his family were living a decent life in Khartoum before the war erupted on April 15, 2023. Today, their reality is marked by violence, loss, and uncertainty.
Al-Mighdad, along with his two brothers, one of whom is only 10 years old and has been out of school since the conflict began, his sister, his mother, his diabetic and weak father, and his elderly, sick grandmother, have endured looting, humiliation, and insults. Their financial resources were rapidly depleted, leaving them in a state of utter vulnerability.
After more than a year of struggling to survive in Khartoum, Al-Mighdad managed to flee to the north to Dongola, hoping to find work to support his family still trapped in the conflict-ridden capital. On his journey, he faced many hardships, was beaten, assaulted, and had the little money he had left stolen.
Despite all his efforts, Al-Mighdad has not found stable employment in Dongola. Currently, he lives and works temporarily over 12 hours a day in a small restaurant, which barely provides him with enough to eat.
However, a glimmer of hope has appeared: a friend in Saudi Arabia has found him a job. Unfortunately, Al-Mighdad lacks the financial means to travel and obtain a permit.
Al-Mighdad needs your help to raise the necessary funds to travel to Saudi Arabia, in the hope of securing a stable job promised, and, most importantly, save enough money to bring his family out of Khartoum, offering them a chance to live safely and with dignity in a safer zone with some functioning facilities and services, as initially planned.
Given the very sharp rise in prices, your generosity will cover travel expenses and the cost of obtaining a permit for Al-Mighdad.

Al-Mighdad Mahmoud, un jeune soudanais de 27 ans, et sa famille menaient une vie convenable à Khartoum avant que la guerre n'éclate le 15 avril 2023. Aujourd'hui, leur réalité est marquée par la violence, la perte et l'incertitude.
Al-Mighdad, avec ses 2 deux frères, dont l'un a seulement 10 ans et est déscolarisé depuis le début du conflit, sa sœur, sa mère, son père diabétique et fragile, et sa grand-mère âgée et malade, ont subi pillages, humiliations et insultes. Leurs ressources financières ont été rapidement épuisées, les laissant dans un état de vulnérabilité totale.
Après plus d'un an de lutte pour survivre à Khartoum, Al-Mighdad a réussi à fuir vers le nord, à Dongola, espérant trouver du travail pour soutenir sa famille restée dans la capitale en proie aux combats. Sur son chemin, il a rencontré des difficultés, a été battu, agressé, et s'est fait volé le peu d'argent qu'il lui restait.
Malgré tous ses efforts, Al-Mighdad n'a pas trouvé d'emploi stable à Dongola. Actuellement, il vit et travail temporairement plus de 12h par jour dans un petit restaurant qui ne lui offre à peine que de quoi se nourrir.
Cependant, une lueur d'espoir est apparue : un ami en Arabie Saoudite lui a trouvé un emploi. Malheureusement, Al-Mighdad n’a pas les moyens financiers nécessaires pour voyager et obtenir un permis de séjour.
Al-Mighdad a besoin de votre aide pour réunir les fonds nécessaires afin qu'il puisse rejoindre l'Arabie Saoudite, dans l'espoir d'obtenir un emploi stable promis et, surtout, rassembler suffisamment d'argent pour faire sortir sa famille de Khartoum, leur offrant ainsi une chance de vivre en sécurité et dignement dans une zone plus sûre dotée d’équipements et services fonctionnels, comme initialement projeté.
