Hi, my name is Taylor and this fundraiser is for emergency care of my Jack Russell Terrier mix, Finley. Finley has been my best friend since I adopted him in 2015. We have been together through 3 moves, 2 states, and countless adventures. This morning, I woke up and Finley was not at the foot of my bed like he usually is. I called for him and he was unresponsive in the hallway. When I found him he was unable to walk, his body was cold, and his breath was ragged. He struggled to lift his head to look at me. I immediately rushed him to West Vet emergency clinic where he was immediately put on oxygen, an IV, and a heating pad. As of right now, it has been 3 hours, and they have been unable to increase his heart rate. His chest Xray shows no sign of cancer spread, but he has blood in his abdomen. We are unsure where the blood is from, or whether this was caused by toxin ingestion or mas rupture internally. He has been admitted to the ICU for 24 hours and more tests such as ultrasound and blood work are being done. Anyone who has ever met Finley can tell you he is the sweetest, smartest, most charismatic dog you'll ever meet. I take keeping him healthy seriously, and he has never had any health problem like this before. (In fact, the vet has always said he is remarkably healthy for his age). Finley is my best friend, my unofficial emotional support dog, my cuddle nurse, my adventure buddy, and a joy to everyone he meets. I am struggling financially and I am humbly asking for assistance for his current and upcoming medical bills. If surgery is needed, the bills are estimated to exceed $6000.
