Donate to M.A.R.A's Fundraiser is switching in fixing up mode. Help.., organized by Barbara Dyer Channell

This is M.A.R.A's new mural on River St. River street is I believe the second most historic street in Lakeside. So we want to keep it up along with Maine Avenue and Vine Street Stay tuned for our next project. M.A.R.A. goal is to beautify Historic Downtown Lakeside. Our business card shows just some of the beautification of Downtown. There has been so much more done that you drive each day. Soon another Lakeside project will be revealed. Then we are on to the next thing with your help. Thank you! M.A.R.A. pays $375 a month for a company to go to all of our trash cans and empty once a week. They also furnish a trailer for when we have clean up days. So that comes to $4,500 a year to keep Lakeside's trash cans emptied. It has been hard to make the payments. I don't think anyone want to go back to when there were no trash cans and trash was just dropped on the ground. It still gets thrown on the ground but if you could see the overflowing trash cans you'll see how bad there are needed. Please make a donation. On to raising funds for beautification of Historic Downtown Lakeside. Maine Avenue Revitalization Association was created by Betty McMillen and a few friends to revitalize Historic Downtown Lakeside. With her guidance M.A.R.A. has had the old fashioned lights put in. Murals painted. Our new street banners. Buildings painted. And so much more over the years. We came to you last year asking for donations for our trash service. The trash along Maine Avenue is picked up once a week. We have started to clean and paint the trashcans.
