Hey everyone, My name is Lilian Atieno, a young and determined volunteer from Nyando CBO (Community Based Organization) in Ahero, Western Kenya. I have recently been accepted into the South-North weltwärts programme with ijgd, and I am eager to participate. This program facilitates the exchange of volunteers from around the world to Germany and back, initiated by the BMZ (Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development). However, to fully engage in the program, I need to reach at least level A1 in German and attend a language course. The recommended language institute is the Goethe Institute in Nairobi, Kenya. To cover all costs associated with this endeavor, I need €400 for the course and exam fees. I am asking for your help in raising this amount. This volunteering opportunity is of immense importance to me as it will allow me to share my volunteering skills from Kenya with projects in Germany and provide me with valuable learning experiences. Helping people has always been my passion, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with a nursery school in Berlin through the South-North weltwärts program. I sincerely hope that with your support, my wish will come true. My first goal is to cover the cost of my German lessons, but this will not be the only expense. I would also like to use the money to cover my living expenses during my one-year stay in Germany, including buying clothes and food to support myself.
