Kuradji is a ancient sacred Aboriginal site located on McCauleys beach at Sandon Point,1 hour south of Sydney. The skeleton of Kuradji or 'Clever man' was found in 1998,uncovered by a roaring sea swell and soon after to be dated to be 6000 years old. It was then clear to see that this site was a traditional meeting, trading and ceremonial place for people from far-flung regions, both coastal and inland, for tens of thousands of years.The archaeological and anthropological significance of Kuradji cannot be overstated At this time it was,with great protest and a powerful legal battle, that this culturally significant site was saved from any development and to be protected by all. Aboriginal Elders named the sacred grounds as KURADJI. So at this time we hold gatherings 3 times a year to connect all people with the vision of keeping the fire burning by educating,celebrating and connecting all people that know how to Respect,Connect and Reflect. We use wonderful skills of music,dance and educational talks to do this. Indigenous leaders also bring local school groups to the sacred site for education days. This is where you wonderful people come in. All of these events cost money and time,we have the time but of course we need more funds to strengthen the motion of connection.
