Donate to I don’t like to ask, but I’m broken., organized by Jessie Colwell

I I know this is long, but please take the time to read it.  For those of you that know me, you know that I don’t air my dirty laundry on social media. I wouldn’t be doing it right now but for me, my situation has become desperate and heartbreaking. I don’t know where else to turn but my friends and family. To give a little backstory in 1992 I married Alan Colwell. He was the father of my first child already and we had one more child. I also have two wonderful stepchildren because of him. In 1998 Alan had his first stroke, and between then and 2006 when he passed away, he had one more stroke and five heart attacks. ~ I was blessed at the time because my mother and father-in-law gave me two funeral plots one for Alan to be buried in and one for me to be buried in next to him. What I didn’t know (and I don’t think they did either)was there was paperwork that should’ve been done to legally give me the deeds for those plots. Fast forward to October 2023, my fiancé Jim Kitts was diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer. He lost that battle on June 22 of this year. My plan had been to bury him with Alan so that I could be buried next to both of the men that I loved. I was notified that I had to get my brother-in-law‘s permission to do so because apparently he had become the sole heir of the entire cemetery plot.  I never in a million years meant to upset him, but apparently I did just that, because he felt that Jim did not deserve to be buried there. And then he said that I am no longer a Colwell so I cannot be buried next to Alan either! I explained to him that I had never gotten married to Jim, even though in the obituary said that we were… Because that’s how we lived and my kids felt he was their stepfather because he had been in their life for over 10 years. he told me I was a liar and that I absolutely could not be buried next to Alan even if I bought Jim his own burial plot (This conversation happened by text message, so if anyone needs to see it to believe it or if it’s denied, I have proof) I am devastated. Not only is he denying me the right to be buried next to my husband, but I’ve called him my brother-in-law for 32 years. In those years we’ve had times that we have not been close, but there have been good times and times that we have used each other as sounding boards and Alan loved him to a fault! So unfortunately, after many tears and a heaviness in my heart it leaves me with no choice except to buy three plots in the cemetery that Alan’s in and have him moved, so that I can be buried next to him . That’s where I need help. The cemetery plots are $900 a piece.-to move Alan, including his new cemetery plot will be $5200 (there is a slight possibility of another $1500 if his vault has decompensated at all but Jon from the cemetery doesn’t think that it should be because it’s not that old) I’ve already paid for the vault for Jim, and all of his other funeral expenses, except the burial fee and now buying a plot. After paying the funeral home I will have a little bit left of the insurance money which I will be putting towards this.  I had been hoping on putting that on his truck that I am trying to keep as well, but that’s a whole different story (because we weren’t married ‍♀️) So I’m asking my friends and family for a little financial help to get me through this and I’ll take ALL the love and prayers I can get, because I am just broken at this point.  Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.Jessie ColwellRead more

Why GoFundMe Articles and URLs Appear on Our Website?

Why GoFundMe Articles and URLs Appear on Our Website and How We Support Other GoFundMe Campaigns

At LFEBridge Foundation, we are dedicated to creating a platform where individuals and organizations can maximize their fundraising efforts. As part of our commitment to supporting a wide range of causes, we incorporate articles and URLs from GoFundMe into our website. Here’s why you might see GoFundMe content on our site, how it benefits the fundraising community, and our relationship with GoFundMe:

1. Amplifying Reach for Fundraising Campaigns

  • Increased Visibility: By featuring GoFundMe articles and URLs on our platform, we help increase the visibility of various fundraising campaigns. This additional exposure can attract more donors and supporters, helping campaigns achieve their goals more quickly.

  • Cross-Promotional Opportunities: Highlighting campaigns from GoFundMe allows us to support a broader spectrum of causes and connect with a wider audience. This cross-promotion benefits both the campaign organizers and potential donors looking for causes to support.

2. Supporting Campaign Growth

  • Advertising and Promotion: We understand the importance of visibility in successful fundraising. By showcasing GoFundMe campaigns, we provide an advertising platform that helps these campaigns reach potential donors who might not have discovered them otherwise.

  • Strategic Partnerships: Collaborating with GoFundMe and featuring their campaigns on our site strengthens the fundraising ecosystem, ensuring that worthwhile causes receive the attention and support they deserve.

3. Expanding Donor Networks

  • Broader Donor Base: Featuring a variety of campaigns from different platforms helps diversify and expand the donor base. This means more people can learn about and contribute to a variety of causes, ultimately driving higher engagement and donations.

  • Enhanced Outreach: By integrating GoFundMe content, we help campaigns tap into new networks and communities, broadening their reach and potential impact.

How We Help Other GoFundMe Campaigns Grow

1. Featured Campaigns Section

  • Highlighting Noteworthy Campaigns: We have a dedicated section on our website where we feature noteworthy GoFundMe campaigns. This not only gives these campaigns a spotlight but also encourages visitors to explore and contribute to them.

  • Rotating Features: To ensure a diverse range of campaigns get visibility, we regularly rotate the featured campaigns. This continuous update keeps the content fresh and engaging for our audience.

2. Social Media Promotion

  • Sharing Across Platforms: We share selected GoFundMe campaigns on our social media channels to reach a broader audience. Our followers, in turn, can share these posts, amplifying the reach even further.

  • Engagement Strategies: Utilizing effective engagement strategies, such as storytelling and compelling visuals, we enhance the appeal of these campaigns, driving more traffic and donations.

3. Email Newsletters

  • Campaign Highlights: Our email newsletters often include highlights of impactful GoFundMe campaigns. By doing so, we bring these causes directly to the inboxes of our subscribers, encouraging more people to get involved and donate.

  • Donor Updates: We keep our donors informed about the progress and success of the campaigns they have supported, fostering a sense of community and continued engagement.

LFEBridge Foundation's Independence

It’s important to clarify that LFEBridge Foundation is an independent entity and is not part of or affiliated with GoFundMe. While we feature and support GoFundMe campaigns on our site, we operate as a separate foundation dedicated to collecting donations for various causes, similar to GoFundMe. Many of these causes are displayed on our website to provide donors with a wide range of options to support.

Conclusion

By featuring GoFundMe articles and URLs on our website, LFEBridge Foundation supports a wide array of fundraising campaigns, helping them gain the visibility and donations they need to succeed.
