Donate to Help Save My Cat's Life: Urgent Surgery Needed!!, organized by Kelyn Lyon

Hello, everyone. I'm reaching out to you with a heavy heart to ask for your help. My sweet 8 year old boy, Angel, is in critical condition after ingesting a long, thick piece of string. (I have included more pictures of him at the bottom.) It all started when we noticed him not eating his food back in early June. He acted sick and lethargic, so we took him to the vet where they diagnosed it and treated it like a uti and pneumonia. Running tests and getting medicene for him costed us 582 dollars. He seemed to be fine for a little while, but it only took a week when he wouldn't touch anything, barely drink any water, and he was losing such a significant amount of weight in just under two months (He went from 11 pounds all the way to 8.) My dad and I just thought he was being picky because cats tend to have a really good record of not showing that anything is wrong with them initially. He acted completely fine, was super friendly, but he wasn't eating. Eventually, even though we didn't have a lot of money after the first visit, we decided we had to take him back to the vet. It costed a little over 800 dollars just to run tests and figure out what was wrong with him. When they kept him overnight to run the tests and hook him up on some iv fluids, they had found the string in his stool. They don't think he has passed it all, and described his intestines as being shaped like an accordion. If there is left over string inside of him, it can sever his bowels, resulting in devastating and painful conditions that he would not survive. In order to go in and be able to remove it, they would need to run a biopsy and do blockage removal surgery which is going to cost around 1,800, which we really cannot afford and I desperately do not want to have to put him down.. it feels absolutely awful knowing the only thing keeping me from saving my baby is money issues. I have never grown up in a wealthy family, but instead a low middle income one. This price and what we have already spent has just been devastating. We do not want to lose him, but we have no way to come up with this money alone. We desperately need any help that anyone is able to offer us. He got the name Angel originally because I had thought he was a female! But I decided to keep the name because he was a true angel sent from heaven. He has never hissed, bit, or scratched me nor anyone else. A complete and utterly loveable sweetheart. I had rescued Angel when he was just 1 years old from being stuck in a fence with an injured paw. We found his original owner, but he let me keep him. Even though I had rescued him, it felt more like he rescued me.. I was only 12 and dealing with really bad episodes of anxiety and depression. But he helped me survive and get through it.. and he still does.. even with me being 20, almost 21, now. I don't wanna lose him.. I need to help him like how he has helped me. So please, any donation, no matter the amount, will bring me closer to saving his life. If you can't donate, sharing this campaign would mean the world to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your support during this difficult time. With gratitude, Kelyn. (The amount of weight he lost) (He's a very silly boy!) (He has a little heart shaped pattern) (His arm is bandaged up from the iv.) Read more

Why GoFundMe Articles and URLs Appear on Our Website and How We Support Other GoFundMe Campaigns

At LFEBridge Foundation, we are dedicated to creating a platform where individuals and organizations can maximize their fundraising efforts. As part of our commitment to supporting a wide range of causes, we incorporate articles and URLs from GoFundMe into our website. Here’s why you might see GoFundMe content on our site, how it benefits the fundraising community, and our relationship with GoFundMe:

How We Help Other GoFundMe Campaigns Grow

  • Engagement Strategies: Utilizing effective engagement strategies, such as storytelling and compelling visuals, we enhance the appeal of these campaigns, driving more traffic and donations.

3. Email Newsletters

  • Campaign Highlights: Our email newsletters often include highlights of impactful GoFundMe campaigns. By doing so, we bring these causes directly to the inboxes of our subscribers, encouraging more people to get involved and donate.
