Hallo allemaal, ik ben Cecile, moeder van Max. Max is 26 jaar. 6 jaar geleden was Max een vrolijke jongeman, studeerde, ging uit met zijn vrienden en genoot van het leven! Na een hersenvliesontsteking bleek hij een voortschrijdende dystonie te hebben. Dit is een ziekte waarbij de spieren in zijn lichaam zijn aangetast. Er zijn tientallen onderzoeken gedaan naar de oorzaak, maar deze is niet gevonden. Dat betekent dat Max niet behandeld kan worden en dat het proces ook niet gestopt kan worden. Max is nu in alles afhankelijk van anderen, zelfs praten lukt niet meer. Hij ligt dan ook het grootste gedeelte van de dag in bed. Omdat Max wel graag erop uit gaat en vroeger veel fietste, ben ik aan het sparen voor een frame runner. Dit is een fiets met drie wielen en zonder trappers. Hij 'fietst' dan door zijn voeten te bewegen (trippelen). Een framerunner is het enige vervoermiddel dat Max in staat stelt zichzelf te verplaatsen! Het zou zo de kwaliteit van zijn leven een heel stuk verbeteren! Omdat zo'n fiets erg veel geld kost en deze niet vergoed wordt door de WMO of het Zorgkantoor, doe ik deze oproep via GoFundMe om geld voor een frame runner in te zamelen.
