Hi. My name is Juanita. And I am doing a fundraiser for myself, and my family. We experienced the tornadoes which went through Tallahassee, Florida on May 13, 2024.
I am a single mother of four children, two of which have been diagnosed with Autism. Today is June 9, 2024. We still have no electricity in our home. So, I am making the decision to take what we can salvage and find a new home.
I spoke with the property owner where we live last week (who had no idea we did not have electricity.. no matter how many messages, emails, voice mails, or texts I left). They agreed that if I am out of my home by the 15th of this month (this Saturday) I might get my deposit back (in 2-4 weeks).
This is definitely not a planned event. I have no saved money to move. I have used all of any extra funds which I did have for us to live, which is interesting when you are budgeting for charcoal for the grill, water, and daily food.
I am asking if anyone can help us financially, so we may move into a new home. I am currently staying with a friend from college, and her family. They have opened up their home to us for the summer.
If this works, great! I would greatly appreciate every single penny donated! My children do not understand what it means to have, or not have, money. And really, they shouldn’t need to understand it at this age either (at least not my younger ones).
The photo I chose for the main photo is of my youngest little. He is my non-verbal autistic adhd lovely. He was so excited to “man the grill.” We all took turns cooking, and keeping the fire going in the grill, during the first two weeks while NO ONE had electricity in our community.
I love all of my children so much. And like most parents, I would do almost anything for them. This has been a real challenge for me, as I not good at asking for help.
I have looked at the resources in my community. I am not finding anything which may help us. So, I am reaching our here. My mom doesn’t believe in going through “go fund me” as she thinks most people who ask for help here are looking for attention, do not really need the help, and just want a hand out (for nothing).
I am literally moving out of the home which we have lived in, and throwing 90% of our stuff away (as there has really been no electricity in our home at all.. so, it’s icky in there). I work from home, normally, and have for almost 10 years now. With that said, I am not working right now either.
We are about to let go and rebuild! For anyone who has anyone close to them with ASD (autism) you know how hard change can be. This month has been quite challenging, and the transitions have not yet finished!
We are going to make it. This has not been easy. Life is not easy. I always make things work, somehow. But, this time, I am asking for help. I have felt very overwhelmed during this chain of events. The changes in our lives, in our home, the melt downs, even just switching grocery stores has been crazy.. It has all been a challenging.
If you are able to help fund us, and make this transition smoother for us. Thank you.
Entonces, estoy llegando a nuestro aquí.
Gracias.

Why GoFundMe Articles and URLs Appear on Our Website and How We Support Other GoFundMe Campaigns
At LFEBridge Foundation, we are dedicated to creating a platform where individuals and organizations can maximize their fundraising efforts. As part of our commitment to supporting a wide range of causes, we incorporate articles and URLs from GoFundMe into our website. How We Help Other GoFundMe Campaigns Grow
1. Featured Campaigns Section
Highlighting Noteworthy Campaigns: We have a dedicated section on our website where we feature noteworthy GoFundMe campaigns. This not only gives these campaigns a spotlight but also encourages visitors to explore and contribute to them.
Rotating Features: To ensure a diverse range of campaigns get visibility, we regularly rotate the featured campaigns. This continuous update keeps the content fresh and engaging for our audience.
2. Social Media Promotion
Sharing Across Platforms: We share selected GoFundMe campaigns on our social media channels to reach a broader audience. Our followers, in turn, can share these posts, amplifying the reach even further.
Engagement Strategies: Utilizing effective engagement strategies, such as storytelling and compelling visuals, we enhance the appeal of these campaigns, driving more traffic and donations.
3. Email Newsletters
Campaign Highlights: Our email newsletters often include highlights of impactful GoFundMe campaigns. By doing so, we bring these causes directly to the inboxes of our subscribers, encouraging more people to get involved and donate.
