Donate to Help for my father's medical expenses, organized by Nicole Bordeaux

Hello, my name is Nicole, the reason I am asking for donations is to help pay for some medical expenses as well as other necessities. A bit of a back story to start, my father has had back problems for well over 15 years that was caused by multiple auto accidents as well as a motorcycle accident. A few months ago the pain had gotten worse than it's ever been, he was bedridden for a month. His primary doctor told him to go to the ER because he the pain had become unbearable and was also getting chills. He went in to get checked for an infection and get an MRI. He was later transferred and admitted. The MRI showed two spots in his back area and they needed to do a biopsy as well as blood cultures to check for infection. A few days into being admitted he tested positive for an infection, he spent a week on an IV drip of antibiotics. They were set to release him but at the last minute one of the cultures that had no growth finally showed something and he didn't end up coming home. A few days later a neurosurgeon told my father he needed to have emergency surgery and it was scheduled for later that day. They did a laminectomy. We were still waiting on the results of the biopsies to come back. He was kept in the hospital for another week to recover from surgery, but the whole time he was in agonizing pain. The hospital didn't want to keep him any longer so he was sent to an inpatient physical rehab facility, while there he was still dealing with back and leg pain. He was in that facility for two weeks, the doctors didn't want to send him home but the insurance wouldn't pay for him to be there any longer. All that time we were never told what the infection was that he had, as well as the result of the biopsy. A conference call between my father, his primary doctor and myself was when we were finally told he had MRSA, which is an infection on steroids that is immune to most antibiotics and is HIGHLY contagious. We were also told that the biopsies showed that they had metastasized from his prostate into the bone marrow of his pelvis and spine. Meaning he has cancer. He still has not regained his ability to walk normal and uses a wheelchair and walker. We are asking for help to so he can make it to and from his appointments, to buy the things that he needs that the insurance won't cover as well as some basic living expenses. I try to help and take care of him to the best of my abilities but I have health problems of my own that are limiting. Thank you for taking the time to read about his situation and any donation is is helpful in our situation. Read more

Why GoFundMe Articles and URLs Appear on Our Website and How We Support Other GoFundMe Campaigns

At LFEBridge Foundation, we are dedicated to creating a platform where individuals and organizations can maximize their fundraising efforts. As part of our commitment to supporting a wide range of causes, we incorporate articles and URLs from GoFundMe into our website. Here’s why you might see GoFundMe content on our site, how it benefits the fundraising community, and our relationship with GoFundMe:
