Footprints to Recovery has been in business since 2008. Starting out with a few dollars and the dream of a woman who wanted to give back to others and provide safe, stable and supportive housing to those seeking a 12-step program of recovery. She saved my life and I am forever grateful. I came to Footprints over 5 years ago as a client and I didn't know know then how much I needed to have a safe space to heal in. I had destroyed so many things in my life due to my addiction and did not think it was possible to recover from the pain and trauma that I experienced or caused. Footprints opened it's doors to me and gave me an opportunity to work on myself around other women who had the same goals as I did. I had to learn how to work, go to meetings, take care of my children, and find my relationship with God. All of the tools I learned at Footprints gave me the ability to deal with life on a daily basis. I have remained sober for over 5 years and I see people everyday who need that same support and love that Footprints gave me. There is an increasingly high demand for recovery housing needs for those who suffer from substance use disorder and Co-Occurring disorders. Most of the people in our community have lost everything and do not have financial or family support to cover the costs of recovery housing. This financial barrier prevents people from entering housing and continues the cycle of use. I am asking you all to join me in my cause in helping someone change their life, to help their families get their loved one back and to begin the healing process. Donations would help to offer more beds and services to those seeking recovery who do not have the financial means.
