My name is Diamond Foggie. I am a Middle School Math Teacher. It is my mission to engage students in the learning of mathematics in an environment that fosters positive mathematics identity, distributes the power and agency in the learning of mathematics to students, and is inclusive. I strive to empower my students to define their role in this system and to most importantly, to have a voice. ALL students deserve a fair and justified education. Through a rich mathematics experience, it is my goal to provide students the opportunity to be poised to enter college or careers more deeply and successfully, feeling confident with their ability to engage in and find solutions for societal challenges. As an educator, I have led classrooms in the face of adversity as well as the structural inequities that continue to harm my students. I have dedicated my educational career to students of color and students from low-income backgrounds to receive the equitable and quality education they deserve.
