**Nuestra comunidad y su historia**
¿El destino del proyecto? Nuestra comunidad intercultural te invita a la región de la Sierra Nevada, en el norte de Colombia. Situado en la falda de una montaña de vegetación densa y húmeda, nuestro pueblo cuenta con un pequeño caserío y una escuela primaria. En este ambiente natural viven unas cuarenta familias que habitan granjas agrícolas y casas indígenas, accesibles por un camino rural de unos cinco kilómetros desde la Troncal del Caribe (carretera nacional). Nuestro pueblo, de carácter familiar, está poblado por campesinos, comunidades afrodescendientes, comunidades indígenas (Koguis) y neocampesinos (colombianos y expatriados). Esta confluencia de culturas es la fuente de una gran riqueza de conocimientos y tradiciones, lo que nos motiva a crear lugares de encuentro físicos para fomentar los ciclos de transmisión y aprendizaje colectivo. Nuestros valores son los del compartir y la ayuda mutua, por lo que queremos transmitir un legado intercultural a las futuras generaciones / a nuestros hijos.
Esta región, como muchas otras, no ha sido inmune a la violencia y los trastornos causados por la guerra interna que azota al país, debilitando considerablemente el tejido social de las comunidades. Sin embargo, la situación geopolítica ha evolucionado, provocando la erradicación de cultivos ilegales y la revalorización de plantaciones de cacao, café y diversos frutos. Nuestras tierras están renaciendo gracias a proyectos de reservas naturales, regeneración de ecosistemas, permacultura y eco turismo, lo que refleja una voluntad de superar la violencia pasada.
Hoy en día, ¿qué pasa con nuestra comunidad? La protección de nuestro entorno es una prioridad, pero también lo es la educación de nuestros hijos. En 2020, debido a la pandemia, las clases en la escuela se interrumpieron durante varios meses. Un espacio alternativo autogestionado, AULAS LIBRES, surgió en colaboración con un equipo interdisciplinario. Ofrecemos actividades educativas en el comedor de la escuela y clases lúdicas al aire libre en fincas vecinas enfocadas en permacultura, en el río y en el bosque.
Desde una perspectiva de integridad, también organizamos talleres para niños y adultos para promover la educación ambiental, los idiomas, las artes, deporte y consciencia. Con el retroceso de la pandemia, los niños regresaron a la escuela, sin embargo por falta de locales y recursos financieros, las actividades educativas bajo la responsabilidad de AULAS LIBRES se detuvieron.
**El proyecto que nos une: un espacio de educación para todos**
¿Cómo hacer realidad el sueño de un lugar dedicado a nuestro proyecto educativo? El proyecto consiste en crear un centro intercultural en el que las infraestructuras, los materiales y el entorno se adapten a la implementación de actividades de aprendizaje, inspiración e intercambio entre todos los actores involucrados de la comunidad.
**¿Ya se ha encontrado un espacio?**
Visualizamos el futuro centro intercultural en un terreno ubicado al borde del camino del pueblo, detrás de la escuela primaria, cerca de las viviendas familiares y del hermoso río Orinoco. Este terreno es fruto de una donación de un vecino del pueblo que, hace veinte años, deseaba que se destinara al uso público de la comunidad. Al principio, un quiosco con techo de palmas ofrecía un momento de descanso a los vecinos, pero se derrumbó por falta de mantenimiento y el espacio fue abandonado. Al lado, el Estado construyó un almacén para los residuos, pero sin seguimiento, nunca se enviaron los camiones de recolección. El espacio se convirtió en un vertedero a cielo abierto, el techo se derrumbó, haciendo el lugar inhabitable y peligroso.
**¡Nuestras acciones entran en escena!**
Gracias a las primeras donaciones, la venta de productos de nuestra comunidad y ropa de segunda mano, pudimos renovar el suelo y los cimientos existentes, así como construir una primera parte del techo. Hoy, hacemos un llamado a tu generosidad para apoyar nuestro proyecto y ayudarnos a financiar las otras partes de la casa intercultural.

**Our Community and Its History**
What's the project's destination? Our intercultural community invites you to the Sierra Nevada region, in northern Colombia. Nestled in the mountainous foothills amidst lush, humid vegetation, our village consists of a small cluster of houses and a primary school. Within this surrounding nature live about forty families, residing in farmsteads and indigenous homes, all accessible via a rural road about five kilometers from Troncal del Caribe (the national highway). Our village, characterized by its familial atmosphere, is home to farmers, Afro-descendant communities, indigenous communities (Koguis), as well as neo-campesinos (Colombians and expatriates). This cultural confluence fosters a wealth of knowledge and traditions, motivating us to create physical meeting spaces to encourage cycles of collective learning and transmission. Our values revolve around sharing and mutual support, thus embodying an intercultural heritage that we aim to pass on to future generations.
Like many other regions, this area has not been spared from the violence and disorder caused by the internal war plaguing the country, which has weakened the social fabric of communities. However, the geopolitical situation has evolved, leading to the eradication of illegal crops and the revitalization of cacao, coffee, and abundant fruit plantations. This land is experiencing a rebirth through projects focused on nature reserves, ecosystem regeneration, permaculture, and ecotourism, reflecting a determination to overcome past violence.

Today, what is the state of our community? Protecting our environment is a priority and so is the education of the children. In 2020, due to the pandemic, classes at the school were interrupted for several months. An alternative self-managed space - AULAS LIBRES - was created in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.
We offered educational activities in the school cafeteria and conducted playful outdoor classes in neighboring farms focused on permaculture, by the river and the forest. In the spirit of integrity, we also organized workshops for children and adults aimed at promoting environmental education, languages, arts, sports and mindfulness. As the pandemic receded, children returned to school. Due to a lack of facilities and financial resources, the educational activities under the responsibility of AULAS LIBRES came to a halt.
**The project that unites us: a space for education for all**
How do we realize the dream of a place dedicated to our educational project? The project involves creating an intercultural center where infrastructure, materials, and the environment are conducive to implementing learning, inspiration, and sharing activities among all community collaborators.
A space already identified? We envision the future intercultural center on a parcel of land located along the village road behind the primary school, not far from family homes and the beautiful Orinoco River. This land was donated by a neighbor twenty years ago, with the intention of it being used for the community's public benefit. Initially, a kiosk with a palm leaf roof provided a moment of respite for neighbors, but it collapsed due to lack of maintenance, and the space was abandoned. Adjacent to it, the government built a warehouse for waste, without the proper follow-up, waste collection trucks were never dispatched. The space became an open-air dump, with the roof collapsing, rendering the place uninhabitable and dangerous.
**Our actions then take center stage! **
Thanks to initial donations, proceeds from the sale of community products and second-hand clothing, we were able to renovate the floor and existing foundations and build the first part of the roof. Today, we call upon your generosity to support our project and help finance the other parts of the intercultural house.
**How will the funds be used?**
- Financing dedicated to renovation and construction: roofs and walls of the storage room for educational materials, changing rooms, bleachers, and toilets.
- Setting up the intercultural house with inclusive and adaptable spaces.
- Supporting educational programs and cultural events.

**Notre communauté et son histoire**
La destination du projet? Notre communauté interculturelle vous invite dans la région de la Sierra Nevada, au Nord de la Colombie. Situé dans les contreforts montagneux d’une végétation dense et humide, notre village compte un petit groupe de maisons et une école primaire. Dans cette nature environnante vit une quarantaine de familles qui habitent des fermes agricoles et des maisons indigènes toutes accessibles par un chemin rural d’environ cinq kilomètres depuis Troncal del Caribe (route nationale). Familial, notre village est peuplé de paysans, de communautés afro-descendantes, de communautés indigènes (Koguis) ainsi que de agriculteurs (Colombiens et expatriés). Cette confluence de cultures est à l’origine d’une grande richesse de connaissances et de traditions, ce qui nous mobilise à créer des lieux de rencontres physiques afin d’encourager les cycles de transmission et d’apprentissage collectif. Nos valeurs sont celles du partage et de l’entraide, c’est donc un héritage interculturel que nous souhaitons transmettre aux futures générations / à nos enfants.
Cette région, comme beaucoup d’autres, n’a pas été épargnée par la violence et les bouleversements causés par la guerre interne qui sévit dans le pays, affaiblissant le tissu social des communautés. Néanmoins, la situation géopolitique a évolué provoquant l’éradication des cultures illégales et la revalorisation des plantations de cacao, de café et de fruits divers. Nos terres renaissent grâce à des projets de réserves naturelles, de régénération des écosystèmes, de permaculture et d’écotourisme, témoignant d'une volonté de surmonter la violence passée.
Aujourd’hui, qu’en est-il de notre communauté ? La protection de notre environnement est une priorité, mais l’éducation de nos enfants aussi. En 2020, en raison de la pandémie, les cours au sein de l’école ont été interrompus pendant plusieurs mois. Un espace alternatif autogéré - AULAS LIBRES - a vu le jour en collaboration avec une équipe interdisciplinaire. Nous avons proposé des activités éducatives dans la salle à manger de l’école et donné des cours ludiques en plein air dans des fermes voisines, à la rivière et dans la forêt. Dans une perspective d’intégrité, nous avons également organisé pour les enfants et les adultes des ateliers visant à promouvoir l’éducation environnementale, les langues, les arts et le sport. La pandémie reculant, les enfants sont retournés à l'école. Cependant, le manque de locaux et de ressources financières ont stoppé nos activités éducatives.
**Le projet qui nous rassemble : un espace d’éducation pour tous**
Comment réaliser le rêve d’un lieu dédié à notre projet éducatif ? Le projet consiste à créer un centre interculturel dans lequel les infrastructures, les matériaux et l’environnement sont adaptés à la mise en place d'activités d’apprentissage, d’inspiration et de partage entre tous les acteurs impliqués de la communauté.
Un espace déjà trouvé ? Nous visualisons le futur centre interculturel sur un terrain situé au bord du chemin du village derrière l’école primaire, non loin des habitations familiales et de la belle rivière Orinoco. Ce terrain est le fruit d’une donation d’un villageois qui, il y a vingt ans, souhaitait qu’il soit destiné à l’usage public de la communauté. Au départ, un kiosque avec un toit de palmes offrait un moment de répit aux voisins, mais il s'est effondré par manque d’entretien et l'espace a été abandonné. A côté, l’État a construit un entrepôt pour les déchets, mais sans suivi, les camions de collecte n’ont jamais été envoyés. L’espace est devenu une décharge à ciel ouvert, le toit s’est effondré, rendant l’endroit inhabitable et dangereux.
**Nos actions entrent alors en scène ! **
Grâce à de premières donations, de la vente de produits issus de notre communauté et de vêtements de seconde main, nous avons pu rénover le sol et les fondations existantes ainsi que construire une première partie du toit.
Aujourd’hui, nous faisons appel à votre générosité pour soutenir notre projet et nous aider à financer les autres parties de la maison interculturelle.

**Unsere Gemeinschaft und ihre Geschichte**
Das Ziel des Projekts? Unsere interkulturelle Gemeinschaft lädt Sie in die Region Sierra Nevada im Norden Kolumbiens ein. Gelegen am Fuße eines dichten und feuchten Berges, umgeben von üppiger Vegetation, verfügt unser Dorf über eine kleine Ansiedlung und eine Grundschule. In dieser natürlichen Umgebung leben etwa vierzig Familien, die auf Bauernhöfen und in indigenen Häusern leben und über eine ländliche Straße von etwa fünf Kilometern von der Carretera Nacional (Hauptstraße) aus erreichbar sind. Unser familiäres Dorf ist von Bauern, afro-kolumbianischen Gemeinschaften, indigenen Gemeinschaften (Koguis) und neu angesiedelten Jungbauern (kolumbianische sowie ausländische) bevölkert. Diese kulturelle Vielfalt ist eine Quelle großer Wissens- und Traditionsschätze, die uns dazu motiviert, physische Begegnungsorte zu schaffen, um den Kreislauf von Wissens- und kollektivem Lernen zu fördern. Unsere Werte sind das Teilen und die gegenseitige Hilfe, daher möchten wir ein interkulturelles Erbe an zukünftige Generationen und unseren Kindern weitergeben.
Diese Region, wie viele andere, war nicht immun gegen die Gewalt und die heftigen Unruhen des Krieges, der das Land heimsucht und das soziale Gefüge der Gemeinschaften erheblich schwächt. Die geopolitische Situation hat sich jedoch weiterentwickelt und zur Ausrottung illegaler Anbaufelder sowie zur Aufwertung von Kakaoplantagen, Kaffee und verschiedenen Früchten geführt. Unsere Länder erblühen dank Projekten zur Schaffung von Naturreservaten, Regeneration von Ökosystemen, Permakultur und Ökotourismus, was den Willen widerspiegelt, die vergangene Gewalt zu überwinden.
Was passiert heute mit unserer Gemeinschaft? Der Schutz unserer Umwelt hat Priorität, ebenso wie die Ausbildung unserer Kinder. Im Jahr 2020 wurden aufgrund der Pandemie für mehrere Monate keine Schulen besucht. Ein selbstverwalteter alternativer Raum, AULAS LIBRES, entstand in Zusammenarbeit mit einem interdisziplinären Team. Wir boten Bildungsaktivitäten im Schulrestaurant und spielerische Unterrichtseinheiten im Freien auf benachbarten Bauernhöfen, am Fluss und im Wald an. Aus einer Integritätsperspektive organisierten wir auch Workshops für Kinder und Erwachsene, um Umweltbildung, Sprachen, Kunst und Sport zu fördern. Mit dem Rückgang der Pandemie kehrten die Kinder in die Schule zurück, aber der Mangel an Räumlichkeiten und finanziellen Mitteln stoppte unsere Bildungsaktivitäten.
**Das Projekt, das uns vereint: Ein Bildungsraum für alle**
Wie wird der Traum eines Ortes für unser Bildungsprojekt Wirklichkeit? Das Projekt besteht darin, ein interkulturelles Zentrum zu schaffen, in dem die Infrastruktur, die Materialien und die Umgebung auf die Durchführung von Lern-, Inspirations- und Austauschaktivitäten zwischen allen Beteiligten der Gemeinschaft zugeschnitten sind.
**Ist bereits ein Platz gefunden worden?**
Wir sehen das zukünftige interkulturelle Zentrum auf einem Grundstück am Rande der Dorfstraße, hinter der Grundschule, in der Nähe der Familienhäuser und des wunderschönen Flusses Orinoco. Dieses Grundstück ist das Ergebnis einer Spende eines Dorfbewohners, der vor zwanzig Jahren wollte, dass es für die öffentliche Nutzung der Gemeinschaft bestimmt ist. Anfangs bot ein Kiosk mit einem Palmendach den Bewohnern eine Ruhepause, aber er brach wegen mangelnder Wartung zusammen und der Raum wurde aufgegeben. Daneben baute der Staat ein Lagerhaus für Abfälle, aber es wurden nie Müllwagen geschickt. Der Raum wurde zu einer Mülldeponie im Freien, das Dach brach ein und machte den Ort unbewohnbar und gefährlich.

Dank der ersten Spenden, dem Verkauf von Produkten unserer Gemeinschaft und Second-Hand-Kleidung konnten wir den Boden und die vorhandenen Fundamente erneuern sowie einen ersten Teil des Daches bauen. Heute rufen wir Ihre Großzügigkeit auf, um unser Projekt zu unterstützen und uns bei der Finanzierung der anderen Teile des interkulturellen Hauses zu helfen.
