Papo ha sido diagnosticado con cáncer de hígado metastásico que se ha extendido a su estómago, abdomen, pulmones, y huesos. Además de esta terrible enfermedad, recientemente sufrió un derrame cerebral y un aneurismo, lo que ha dejado a Papo sin poder moverse, ni comunicarse por sí mismo. Ha sido puesto en medidas confortantes, esperando su muerte. Mi única esperanza ahora es llevar a Papo de regreso a Puerto Rico, a cumplir su deseo de que en su muerte, sea llevado a Guayama, Puerto Rico, y su cuerpo sepultado junto a su difunta madre y además puede estar rodeado de su familia y amigos en sus últimos momentos. Sin embargo, las complicaciones financieras han hecho que esto sea extremadamente difícil. Estoy recibiendo ayuda de amigas muy cercanas, que considero mis hermanas de corazón, pero no es suficiente para cubrir todos los gastos. Hernández, and I am writing with my heart on my sleeve to ask for help for my dear brother, Carmelo (Papo) López. Papo has been diagnosed with metastatic liver cancer that has spread to his stomach, abdomen, lungs, and bones. In addition to this terrible illness, he recently suffered a stroke and an aneurysm, which has left Papo unable to move or communicate on his own. He has been placed on comfort measures, awaiting death. My only hope now is to take Papo back to Puerto Rico, to fulfill his wish that in his death, he be taken to Guayama, Puerto Rico, and his body buried next to his late mother and he can also be surrounded by his family and friends in their last moments. However, financial complications have made this extremely difficult. I am receiving help from very close friends, who I consider my sisters at heart, but it is not enough to cover all the expenses. We need to raise funds to cover transportation costs from Connecticut to Puerto Rico, as well as additional medical expenses in his final moments. The little money I have been able to raise so far has been from a friend who gave me $200 for the ticket, but we are very far from reaching our goal.
