Hello, my name is Maria but a lot of people call me Syren. This is my beautiful dog Artemis. She's a little a bit older although I'm not sure her exact age I estimate she's between 11 and 13 years old, but she's a very spunky youthful dog. Lots of energy. Until recently. Although she still high energy and happy, I can tell something is wrong. We found a growth on her beer right leg, it is a tumor and it is malignant so they need to remove it right away. Before surgery however, we have to figure out what stage of renal infection she has so that they can account for that during surgery. The good news is it's not going to be as expensive as I take my pets to Mexico for veterinary care. They treat them very well and I've had nothing but excellent experiences. Although this will be significantly less than it would have been in the us, it still costing us a pretty penny and this comes at a time after we just had a baby and are adjusting to life and finances after many obstacles have come our way recently. I know we will be fine but we're still trying to get back on her feet and I have to recognize when to ask for help. I'm one never to ask for help. I feel there's other people that deserve it more than me. However, I am humbling myself and holding faith that there is support from my friends and family and even strangers out there. I know it's hard for everybody and I know some people might say this is just a dog. To me she's not, nor is she to my mom. Animal Companions live such a short lives compared to us, they rely on us so heavily as we are their world. Thus I wish to give her the best chance possible and unfortunately right now I am struggling myself. I set the initial goal at one thousand dollars As I've already spent a few hundred on the initial test and consultation. I don't know how much it will end up costing but I know that the first thousand will help get her through the next round of X-rays and ultrasounds and hopefully even the surgery.
