Hi. My name is Victoria. You may know me as Kari, Callie, or Karisauria. Last year, I ran away from my abusive home, where I was raised my whole life. Long story short, I am fighting for my independence and mental health after surviving abuse and traumatic experiences my entire life. I want to be strong, but I've experienced the learning curve of independence, and I'm still learning how to be financially stable. I have my own apartment now and my own car, both of which I pay for monthly. They are my cornerstones of independence. Recently, I've been experiencing bereavement and deep grief due to losing a very important connection, my ongoing family issues, and aspects of my life falling apart or feeling fleeting. I have been struggling with my mental health and battling PTSD and depression. As a result, I haven't been able to work consistently, and due to me being a freelancer, the little work I do receive is inconsistent. I seldom make enough a month to just barely get by. Expenses come too quickly. This fundraiser was created to help me with what I need to pull through. I have been unable to feed myself properly, and with my current grieving state, I cannot make any money as I barely have enough energy to get up from bed or my couch. I am using up all of my energy on properly grieving and processing my losses. I am at risk of losing everything I have worked so hard for. My home, where I live alone and safe from abuse, and my car, which isn't fully paid off and needs repairs. I have medical needs which are not fully covered by insurance, and a surgery later this year. I aspire to be a strong, independent, shining star of a person, and a beacon for others who have been through immense pain like I have. But right now, I really need help.
